Suprise suprise.
Superbikes Shlooperbikes…..
To see some riders ride their heart out on the 1,000 cc jap bikes to keep up with the Dukes only to see the ground they gained under brakes and some corners lost as soon as they run out of restricted air box puff half way down the straights just killed it for me. I’d rather watch Jerry Springer. The first race this year was the only one I watched.
In my opinion the Superbikes could have been the best competition in the world but they have fucked it up and as Cal says – not listened to the public.
Correct me if I’m wrong but what I believe the public want is to see bikes that as closely as possible resemble bikes that any of us can walk into a major retailer and buy and spend a few thousand bucks on - dook it out on the track. So down at Scarbs on a Sunday arvo we can all take the piss outa each other like “Man… those R1’s were driving miss daisy …. Did you see how that Blade just blitzed it in the straight.. yada yada”.
A competition should be a competition. For everyone to have the opportunity to bend the SAME rules to their advantage. To watch a bunch of Ducati’s with an unfair advantage in not only no air box restriction but now tyres as well? No thanks, would rather watch paint dry.
They should just rename it the Ducati cup and be done with it.
