Pedro's injurys.
This off the web site---
After diagnosis of a fractured wrist & finger and sprained ankle -followed by a small arthroscopic procedure- Dani Pedrosa will make a decision on his involvement in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix shortly.
Dani Pedrosa´s participation in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will be decided between now and Wednesday morning, with the Repsol Honda rider having been undergoing examination at the USP Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona since 10pm on Sunday evening. The injuries suffered by the Spaniard in a crash at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland have been diagnosed as finger and wrist fractures to the left hand and a sprain to his right ankle. An ankle fracture had previously been feared.
Pedrosa´s surgeon, Dr. Xavier Mir, explained the 2007 World Championship runner up's condition, revealing that a small procedure had been performed, in the following statement:
`Dani Pedrosa presents a general inflammation of the left hand with hematomas in the sheathes of both extending tendons. The pilot shows a displaced fracture of the distal phalanx of the left pointing finger, which has been reduced. Further on, the patient presents a sprain of the proximal interphalaxical joint of the middle finger of the left hand which has been totally immobilized. Finally, he has undergone a fixation of a fracture of the big bone of the left wrist by an arthroscopic technique. It is confirmed that the patient has suffered a lateral external sprain of the right ankle.

Drain the blood from the haematomas and let the fractures heal, he'll be back in time for Brno.
He's pushing it if he tries to ride at Laguna, but then again Dr Costa has performed many miracles in the clinica mobila * remember the mad Dr in the Cannonball run*

Repsol Honda´s Dani Pedrosa will fly to the U.S.A on Wednesday, with the intention of riding this weekend.
Dani Pedrosa will be back onboard the Repsol Honda RC212V this weekend at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, despite a fractured left wrist and index finger and sprained right ankle. The Spaniard picked up the injuries in a crash at the last round of the MotoGP World Championship in Sachsenring.
Repsol Honda confirmed Pedrosa´s participation on Wednesday morning, revealing that he had been discharged from the Barcelona hospital where he had undergone a small arthroscopic operation on Tuesday afternoon, and would be flying straight to the U.S.A.
`In agreement with my doctor we have decided that I will fly to the US and I will do my best to ride this weekend,´ stated Pedrosa, after consulting surgeon Dr. Xavier Mir. `We know that it will not be easy and that we won´t know my exact situation until I get on the bike on Friday morning. This is a difficult time for me, of course, but my will is strong and if it is possible for me to ride the bike properly then I really want to ride.´
Pedrosa finished runner up in the 2006 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, but will have a hard task navigating the tricky changes required whilst still sore from his German tumble. The World Championship contender is adopting a `wait and see´ approach as to his goals for the weekend.
`Laguna is a physically demanding track when you are 100 per cent, so it will be tough with my injuries, but I know I can count on the support of the people around me to get me in the best possible shape. Laguna is what I call an ‘old school' circuit, with a lot of steep uphill and downhill sections. The fans are great there, very respectful of all the riders, so I would like to do my best for them. We will see what we can do. I would like to thank everyone around me and also my fans for their support over the last few days.

Want to see Dani up there, love his style of riding

He was riding with broken bones in his hand earlier this season I think?
I'm coming around to actually being a fan... have been a bit of a fan of lorenzo since the 250s, but yeah, respect has increased for him as well... they're both pretty focused.

He'll do it, and good on him. He won't win but will finish top ten and stay closer to contention for the championship. A closer competition means more entertaining racing for us hopefully.

Lorenzo was riding with 2 broken ankles and stil doing well. He rode the previous 2 races to keep his championship points high enough to make a run in the later part of the season. There is a month between Laguna Seca and Brno, that is where he was planning to heal.
Speaks volumes for a young guy to tough it out through injury so he can fight for a championship. Think of how intimidating it was for guys to see him go from whellchair, to bike, and then turn faster laps. Pedro doesn't have the toughness, that is why he'll never win a points championship in the premier class.

Or he could, y'know, perhaps not fall off one year, however much of a stretch that is.
You don't need toughness unless you're injured.

^^ remind me how many DNFs stoner had in 250s again?
Pedrobot actually had (and maybe still has) the best record for podium finishes this year until his accident...
