Some said that about Casey too, Ducati Corse got him cheap.
I am not a Hayden fan, (his sideways style looks good but isn't fast) Casey also struggled with a honda, couldn't keep the front on the road, Melandri was fast last year. I think it is a bike + tyres + rider combination, I'll wait and see if the seppo suits the mix.

But Hayden's not saying a word.....loyal little bugger. It's hard to find where Hayden has said a bad word about anyone.....except perhaps Max.
Didn't Nicky have Max up by the throat a couple of years back?????
As for Hayden to Ducati not a good move......
Isn't the story that Casey was Ducati's 4th choice for last year?
Ducati was supposedly happy to keep Sete, until he asked for too much money.
Nicky Hayden was approached, but decided to remain with Honda.
Marco couldn't get out of his contract.
So as 4th choice, they asked Casey to be the junior to Loris........

Here here.
From what Rossi has said, he's had a hard time at the start of this season just adjusting his setup, etc to take the Bridgestone tyres into account and until he got it to work... well as we saw he had been off pace until recently this season.
You can have the best rider in the paddock, but if the combination of other components is slightly off you'll be off-pace.
Casey clearly suits the ducati... melandri clearly doesn't....

I think hayden will suite the ducati and prove to be faster on that than the honda. His dirt track back groud will be the difference for him on a ducati.

resigns? you mean, re-signs?
Hopefully they can develop the bike to work really well with him again
I don't think Stoner has that great a talent advantage over Rossi, but now that the Duc's systems have been tweaked to suit him just right, he has taken off!
If Yamaha can get that right for Rossi with the new stuff they're putting on, hopefully we'll see some really good racing once again.

Now if only Westy could find his perfect team/setup/tyres/umbrella-girl then we'd have a bloody show on our hands!
