If you're heading South on Orring rd, Just past the Leach Hwy overpass.....

Check out the length of the single skid in the right hand lane!!

I was heading to uni, waiting to turn west onto leach when I saw a blue bike parked up in the inseide medium/grass strip a couple hundred metres up. Went up to investigate and see if he was ok.

Turns out the guy had launched off the lights, wound it out through first gear, changed into second and the gearbox lunched itself (~100km/h) and the rear has locked causing him to leave about 100m of rubber on the raod.. Bloke said himself, he doesnt know how he kept it upright. Guess the model of the bike: 2nd gear lunched itself: Blue 2000 YZF-R1.

Bloke in a ute turned up and I helped him lift the rear wheel up into the ute as the rear tyre wouldnt turn at all.

The most fortunate part of the story, The dude was actaully on the way to the bike mechanic that works next to motorcycle masters, the reason: he was dropping the bike off for a gearbox replacement ~$2500 beacuse 2nd gear was on its way out.
