    Yamaha Paint Codes

    Hi guys,

So I have done some searching around the net and on here, called Yamaha Dealers and also Yamaha Australia but no one can tell me what the paint codes are for a Graphite 2008 R6 to colour code cowling, pillion pegs etc.

Yamaha say they do not have colour codes, as their colours are unique.

Can someone help me who is in the know? All I need is a code or colour name or even be able to buy the paint off someone who knows how to mix up the colour so my mate can paint them for me.

The bike model number is: 13S3-010 / C
    Colour scheme is called Graphite.

    Cheers,

    KS

Even if it is the right paint code it will be different due to age, oxidisation and the rest.

As Potato said go somewhere with a Colour Specto-meter and have them do a pot of what you require.
    Peace out

Cheers Potato! Have you got the Standox System in your shop?

Made some progress today with Yamaha Australia, google and a paint shop in Ozzy park.

2008 R6 Graphite has the following colours:
    Model is: 13S3-010
    Dark Gray Metallic G (DNMG)
    Mat Black #2 (MBL2)

Smallest amount I can buy is 500ml of each, and Ill be using like 50ml so looks like the bike trailer is going to be the same colour scheme as the bike.

    Hopefully the colour is correct.

Just tried to order the DNMG via a supplier with Standox system... and it doesn't come up! But the Mat Black does. Grrr.

Potato, if you get a sec can you check if it comes up on your dupont system. I know it comes up on one of them.

I've never been able to find any to match the SP, either, as the Yamaha paint codes are unique to Yamaha. I've had a hell of a time trying to match that gun smoke metallic purple/blue.

Aaaaaaanyway, check this out; BIKECOLOURS items - Get great deals on items on eBay Stores!

It's not a code or anything, and I doubt they'll give you any info abot how to make it, but maybe you can buy some and match it.

Mate I have a 05 black r1 that I have had the right hand side fairing painted which is the matt black/grey colour and it didn't come out close to the original and every place I take it they say you can not replicate matt its to hard.

Best thing is that people can only see one side of your bike at a time.

I found this joint, but your right needed a pot so can paint off the gun. No good for painting rearsets and other bits.

Your right Matt, the Black came in. All 500ml and about $75 later, nothing like it! Sooooo mate has given up and now just tried his best to colour match. Im just a picky bastard and always want it perfect. He has got the black 99% and the Grey spot on! Anyone need 450ml of Mat Black thats not 100% right. haha

Info for the Yamaha guys. The DNMG is nearly exactly the same as a Nissan Skyline GTR Grey Metallic.

I tell ya, I would hate to send it down the road then have to match the fairings back to back... the cowling, pegs etc I can get away with.

I believe Yamaha uses Spies Hecker. Flick through one of their colour chip cards and find the colour, or get it spectro-analysed. Be aware that fresh paint will look different to the aged paint already on the bike (I'm yet to find a painter that can apply a convincing weathered look )
