    QBE bike insurance

Looks like QBE have given me the best quote for insuring my blade but before I go and pay them I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with them. Cheers

I made a claim earlier in the year and they well and truly fucked it into a cocked hat.

After much letter writing and phone calling, there was some ass kissing done in my general direction and we are currently on a semi-friendly relationship with one another.

They currently insure four vehicles for us, one car and three bikes.

**edit: Should mention I started pulling policies away from QBE before they decided to fix things. I was somewhat regional at the time, but to be honest in this day and age location shouldn't matter a damn when processing claims.

    They insure my bike...
I don't really know what to think. 2 claims, one relatively painless (although I didn't really get the desired outcome) and one a fairly large balls up.

All OK though, still happy to insure with them.
They paid for my repairs well enough, it is getting money back from them that is the hard part.

Claimed earlier in the year, almost a write off. No worries, but she's and older bog standard bike so dunno how you go with "bling" bits.

They are an insurance company mate. There will be plenty of negative stories, but thats the nature of the "game" i'm afraid.

They are big. They are massive in fact, and they price match ANY other insurance quote. So they have worked hard to make their market share large.

I've made a claim with them, it took 5 mins to sort out... The only hassle I had was getting the payout for my riding gear, but that in part was my fault as I took a while to send it in to them... I'll keep using them...

Currently in the middle of the claim for my rear ender last month. Seems smooth so far (although I don't get much of a sense of urgency). I'll let you know how it goes.

Have had a windscreen replacement out of them for MrsB's ute. Claim was pain free but I wasn't impressed by the work of their preferred installer.

My only gripe with them otherwise is that they won't cover vehicles more than 20 years old or newer vehicles that are outside the mainstream. Not an issue for many people though.

There is no such thing as a 2008 Fireblade, Honda retired the name when Tadao Baba retired from Honda.
    It's a CBR1000RR.

My GSXR was insured with QBE and they did ok and paid out quickly. I am with ebike insurance though. Mainly because the policy is around the same though they cover for 4000 rider apparell. Oh and heaps cheaper.

Some pommy website ran a "keep the fireblade name" petition, and they kept the name until the end of '07.

Always wondered why the 08 didn't have any 'Blade decals on it...

But you'll probably still get people calling it a Fireblade... Just like they call all MP3 players iPods.
It's a name that has become synonymous with the CBR brand for a lot of people.
