Thread: Tattoo Artist

Has anyone had a tattoo done in Perth within, say, the last 12 months? looking for some recommendations.

Looking for someone, preferably in the northern suburbs, who does good work (obviously) and is fairly sympathetic with pain wimps.

Last one I had done in Perth was at the Tatt Shop over 6 years ago, and one in Bunbury 2 years ago. So any recent experiences would be appreciated.

    Thanks all

I dont know too many NOR but Applecross studios in Applecross and Art Attack in East Freo are very good. I had my last one done by Art Attack and they are brilliant. He has a whole wall of awards and has won Wa tatt show about 5 times.

My last one (The one on my lower back just under a year ago) was done by Chookie at Lord of the Skins in Joondalup. Expensive compared to some of the others but brilliant. Good with wimps too!!

Abandoned Art in Wanneroo and Reilly's in Main St Osborne Park are good too. Look at Reaper & Goofy's arms respectively to see examples of their work.

    *EDIT*

I would really REALLY !!!!! recomend Reillys Tattoo in ozzy park.

    They are awesome!!!!!

Reillys himself does mostly Portrait stuff and Tribal, Nathan is an unreal artist and does alot of originals and fantasy, cartoon and tribal they also have a new guy but haven't seen much of his work.....

they get really busy so you are best to go down and say hi and book a time to go down.

their prices are really good tooo.

The shop is opposite the ozzy park hotel next to the cafe on the corner of main and hutton??? i think that is street name.... BP is on opposite corner of intersection.

They did my Tatt and almost all of bens..... he has spent thousands on his art work and all of it is unreal.... no fading and they offer all the help and advise you need to help look after your tatt.

the other good thing is that they are not linked with any bike gang.... they are professionals and get artists from around the world come to the shop to work with them.

Reillys tattoo ....... go see them!

PS please excuse any spelling mistakes. i am just having a bad day

If its a big tatt, its worth taking a holiday to Singapore, and killing 2 birds with one stone so to speak . My mate Sam runs a studio there , some awesome work and what seems a lot cheaper by our standards .

Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

Sorry to jack this thread, but I've heard of some guy in subi who does traditional maori tat's really well.. would this Mike "E" be that guy? fairly well known..?

also, what sort of tat are you going for?

Yer the guys down at Unique Tattoo's are definately the best.

I dont know anyone who doesnt use these guys.

I had Garth from Unique Tattoo's do my last one about 9 months ago.

Dont know what the price comparison is but who cares...definately pay for quality rather than getting a blotchy job done elsewhere for a lesser price.

Another for Unique as well. Mike E, Garth, Tim and Dylan all do excellent work although i will be getting dylan to do my next one, he has an amazing touch when it comes to shading. They only deal in cash though so be prepared for that.

Wulph: i am not sure about actually doing them, but Mike has some amazing traditional maori/samoan style tattoos taking up a majority of his back/arms. I would think he may be the one they are talking about, these guys may not be "cheap" but i love their work, fitted me and my sisters in last year (we all got the same tattoo, family crest thing) and were awesome.

Looks like a 4 year old with crayons and a henna pen went to work on you there mate!
The universe likes speed. Don't delay. Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act.
