Anyone know how to replace a timing belt in an 06 holden viva?

This thing is a fucking prick. Trying to get the belt off but I can't get the belt loosened. The only manual I can find is for a slightly different motor, which has one less pulley. It says to loosen the water pump retaining bolts then move the water pump to do it, but the extra pulley I have is in the way? I have NFI.

Angle grinder? Once the belts off you will have more room to work, and I've found belts are always easier to get on than off.

When we had to do one, we went to the Alexander library and photocopied what we needed from the manual there.
    Otherwise, I have nothing either.

The waterpump runs off the timing belt. The confusion was caused because the manual I had was for a 1.6, and the newer 1.8 has an extra tensioner pulley, but I broke the torx bolt trying to get it off.

    can you tell me

    I have a 2006 viva
How did you go with your? you were complaining about the belt being hard to remove, was that the fan belt or the timing belt? I also downloaded a "users Manual" that shows 4 bolts to remove the crank pulley, when I look at mine, I have one 17mm bolt. Didi yours have this and was it hard to get off?
I can ring if you provide a number to chat.

    Thanx

Yeh barinas have the 1.6 and there tensioned off the water pump, but vivas have the 1.6 and they've got the tensioner pulley.
yeh ive broken a T40 on one as well, those bolts are fucking tight! i usually take a hammer and chisel to the bolt to undo it.
btw im a mechanic and i work at a holden dealer so ive done quite a few lol

Haha that makes me feel pretty good about it then mate. Those torx screws are fucked to try and remove. The second one I twisted about 30 degrees (one end of the bit was twisted). I have no fucking idea why you would use a torx bolt on it, just seems like a stupid bolt to use that tight.
