Hi Mick. Not sure of the answer to your question. No doubt the general consensus will be more than likely 2 Stroke Motul or similar from a bike shop.

Best bet is to do a search of the 2 Stroke section of the forum.

G'day mate, welcome aboard

It doesn't get much more fun than the RGV.

Do you know if you're running pre-mix (add oil to tank), or if the oil injection is still working? If it's the injection, it's best to continue using the same oil as the previous owner, they should be able to tell you.

For pre-mix it's not as crucial. Popular oils seem to be Motul (510 or 710 if you're feeling rich), Castrol TTS or any other synthetic oil from a recognised brand.

Best of luck with it, there's plenty of people about who know lots and lots about strokers, and people like me who know to ask them for advice

See you out on a ride soon mate

I've run 98 in my RGV but didn't like it so went back to 95 (Premium). These bikes are tuned for premium and the higher octane may foul up plugs or make the tune more rich.

silkolene or motul.

don't bother with 98. Just stick to premium.
