Also came across this site through Aussiedav (Davo) - (he gets around, that boy!)
I'm from Perth area (Carramar) & ride a Kawasaki GTR1000. Prefer touring style riding to peg scraping and have the bike set up as a Long Distance tourer with all the comforts of home.
Rides planned for 2007 include "FarRide" series - next one on 5th May - see http://www.farriders.com/farridew3.htm , border run on 1st weekend in August, and GTR-AUS annual meet in Tathra NSW on 1st weekend in October.
Other than that, I ride with the Joondalup Ulysses group when I can and, oh yes, commute down that bloody freeway every day!
