Ive just read up on the infill proposal.
Interesting.
Usuallu i am 100% against doing this to Freo but this idea could have merit.
Its in the wrong place tho. Rous head is too industrial. The sound of trucks and containers banging about would mean the residents all complain...

then they will complain and try and stop them coming in

Urr, yeah I'd be curious to see the info and hear your view on the proposal.
But it still has one fundamental problem, and that is it's proximity to industry.

A.
Decide final port/industry location near Kwinana.
B.
Build LARGE roadway/Roe Hwy/Heavy Rail chanel through the burbs and crap, sunken and with occasional overpasses.
C. Get it right the first time.

I can imagine the people who like to fish north mole, and like to surf/bodyboard at sandtracks wont be too happy about it...

I am keen on the idea.
Reclaiming the seabed isn't an issue for me. Anyone who has fished/dived the area knows theres fuckin nothing there in terms of structure anyway. The current setup is all man made so what does it matter if it is extended? Further up the coast may be effected but until I see scientific studies saying so I am pro the development.
I am also pro moving the port to Kwinana...pls make this happen...now.
I am a fisherman (own a fising tackle online store) and can tell you that most of the guys I know who fish the area are mixed in feeling. If it truly will be open to fishing then it's gotta be a positive, but we'll see how open it really is.
The extra boat pens on the Swan will make a huge difference to boating in Perth and the public boat ramp will also be a huge bonus (no doubt the parking fees will hurt though...lol).
I genuinely think Carpenter and others are upset they weren't consulted more and didnt come up with the idea.
