my usual is a grande mocha at the aganzi cafe at uni.

but theres one called swiss mocha almond that is really good

edit: althought I'm guessing the best way to drink that would be perhaps sitting in the swiss alps at a cafe, on a trip around europe. Yet to try it like that tho :D

if u actually care about really good espresso then the best place in perth is core espresso under allendale tower in the cbd. seriously good coffee where the people who make coffee actually know what they are doing....unlike the drek served up by the big chains.

I love coffee

I love chocolate

So for me it's a Mocha.

BEST place is Just Espresso on Preston St in Como.

Nice coffee, and their mochas/hot chocolates/spicy hot chocolates are made with real melted Belgian chocolate, not this powered Cadbury's shit.

Their spicy hot chocolate (not that spicy, just a hint of chilli) is great on a cold winter's afternoon.

And nipPlesticker - stop stealing the wind from my donut! :P

Gloria Jean's Caramel Coffee....sooo damn good.

I even bought some ground stuff in a bag to take home and use in my percolator.

You can get some good stuff at the markets too.

Another good brand which is roasted locally is Black Star.

Hehe I agree. I have a few friends who are into the "short-flat-double-mac-soy-latte"
kind of drinks, but its all sounds a bit wankey (no offence to anyone who can understand
what these things actually are). I always go for the Cappuccino so that I can eat the froth.
Actually, I wouldn't mind just a whole cup of froth sometimes.

I am a big tea drinker. But strictly black and sans sugar. Milk is the best way to ruin a
cup of tea. And please don't argue with this... it's true.

Last time I had tea + coffee + milo, I had a stomache ache -_-

Personally, I just have free coffees from chocolate factory whenever I'm working, I'm not too fussed on brands ;D However, I mainly only have flat whites and capps with 2 sugars... I kinda prefer instant coffee + 2 sugars, but meh, too much sugar all around -_-

ok...here a brief explanation. proper coffee comes from an espresso machine (ie one most cafes will use).

the basic coffee is an espresso, also refferred to as a short black. Its just one shot of coffee about 30ml. When made correctly it will have a layer of crema on top and should NOT be bitter. if your coffee tastes bitter then the barista (bloke/chick who makes the coffee) has burnt the coffee (and also probably using stale beans). which reminds me, whole coffee beans will remain fresh few a max of 2 weeks, unground in a sealed container. also, never freeze your beans!

a short macciatto is an espresso with a tiny bit of steamed milk. macciatto is italian for stained, refferring to the milk on the coffee. quite often a short mac will come topped up, meaning the the small glass is topped up with steamed milk.

a cappacino is 1/3 espresso (still only one shot), 1/3 steamed milk and 1/3 frothed milk.

a latte of an espresso and 2/3's steamed milk.

a long macciato is an australianism. most places will just give you a latte when u order a long mac.

i think that covers the basics. coffee and steaming milk is really an art. its one of those things that once u realise how good it can be, u will refuse to drink the crap most places serve up.
