dont worry jono you know we only let the poms win cause we felt sorry for them

if the selectors put in our best team we would have slaughtered the poms we all know that

i mean why wasnt macgill put in

dumb fuck selectors spose now the game will brighten up and we can flog the poms for another 16 plus years

punx
13-09-2005, 12:50 PM
do any of you actually realise how long the poms had the ashes before we had it for 18 years??

its nothing to be proud of that we had it for 18, now we bloody lost it. GG

Hailwood
13-09-2005, 12:58 PM
A sad day indeed. Should have had MacGill and Warne operating from each end.......at least the poms won't have Richie anymore and we've got at least three more years.... :P

I'm quite happy to volunteer to kill Pietersen, as long as someone will pay for my flight ticket ;)

Bulbous
13-09-2005, 04:17 PM
why kill pietersen? if our bowlers really want to keep dishing up short pitched deliveries, thinking that overall speed is better than pitching the ball where it should go, then he must have been laughing inside his helmet at the plum shots he could play off the shit bowling..... fat lot of good a 97mph delivery does when it is pitched so high and fast that a simple tap with the bat makes it go for four, and even if he left it there was fark all chance it was gonna hit the wickets anyways...... <_<

for instance, when the commentators were saying they should get brett lee bowling again, he comes back in, and promptly bowls a wide so fast and wide that it ran past everyone and off for four runs..... i almost died laughing, yet was so dissapointed they were getting so off the case......

Not that i'm a pom but if it werent for english victory do you think we would be sitting here in oz as ozies?
Maybe we would be dutch or indo or japanese or german!!
It was the victories of the poms 200 years ago that got us here and their failing in the battle of independance that allopwed the USA to be formed. If they won that battle maybe we would not be in Iraq or Afganistan.......

you know the selectors have been doing a crap job lately and not letting any of the players "settle" in the test team.

If they are not settled they will be nervous about their places and it shows in their performance.

feel for you as i know you like the sport (oops breathe the sport)

but i think test cricket is about as exciting as watching grass grow.

I won my bet!

On form the poms were playing well and had beaton us a number of times in the O.D.I's
Apart from JUST loosing the series it was great viewing with close finishes, the Aussies have alway's been great for making come backs and that's why they are Champions.
And more importantly I think we still hold on to the number 1 ranking being that the poms beat us on there home soil.
In two years time you may find a different story, like we will get flogged on our home soil, with a ageing side with 5 to 6 players in there 33's 34's I can see us going down the path of the late 1980's when Alan Border had to rebuild the Australian side to what it is today.

And most importantly "it's only a game" :)

I watched some grass grow once - one of the most satisfying times of my life. I had this little 4 x 5 metre patch out the back of my first house that I hand weeded, hand mowed, hand fed etc - a beautiful little stretch of green that was the envy of neighbours and friends alike. I was so happy to be the proud owner of such a lovely piece of turf!

The first summer with water restrictions and it turned brown and died... :o

(Don't get too attached people - you will only get hurt like I did :( )

To help me compensate for my great loss I started watching cricket - and still do to this day :)

they didnt play macgallia gorilla cause he's a grumpy bastard... and he got spanked all over the shop without picking up a wicket against a dodgy county side... they should've played tait earlier and dropped dizzy and not played kasper... also they should've made the tough call and dropped marto... harsh but against teams like NZ and England he has struggled...

I don' tunderstand what you mean by settle in the test team... the team hasn't been changed except for little tweaks here and there (ie waugh's etc) this is gonna be the rough patch they need to blood new players... selectors have been hesistant to change the team...

While I'll be the first to admit the Poms finally played some good cricket for a change and probably had as much right as the Aussies to win the series, and without trying to sound like sour grapes, there were numerous circumstances that allowed them to win i.e McGrath's freak accident(s)that caused him to miss out on 2 tests, Billy Bowdens regular shocking lbw decisions and f--king English supposed 'Summer' weather ha ,I' ve seen better weather for cricket in Bunbury in June

booze
14-09-2005, 08:10 AM
the reason macgill didnt play is cos hes shite... poor bastard cant put a ball in the same spot twice... that fuckwit pieterson and and mr infredible would have put him over or through the fence 3 or 4 times a freaking over...
and i wouldnt be blaming poontangs capatincy... our batsman made like 3 tons for the whole series? thats not good enough, with runs on the board the pressure is right on the opposition from the start. we never had enough runs on the board to start with.
even in the last test when haydo AND JL made tons we didnt even make 400!!! thats not good enough. mix that with the dropped catches, doesnt make for a good result does it???
there was also some farking shocking decisions ie martos 2 lbw's when he smashed the cover off it! i was also pretty amused at some of the no ball calls!!! but anyway, you cant blame umpires for losing a 5 test series...
obviously im pissed that we lost, but hey, you need a shake up every now and then. itll be interesting to see how we bounce back against the rest of the world!!!

You either like it or not. When you play the game you don't view like that at all. Apart from last year I have played cricket for 21 years, with most my years playing 2nd grade with a few A grade games, at that level every thing happens fast and quickley so time just flies, well apart from opening the batting and facing the quicks 10 minutes to 6pm - that goes real slowly.

After watching the cricket over the past couple of months I think a come back is just around the corner, if the wife will let me :(

Compared to racing it's cheap as chips  $220 a season and $10 a day ball fee's, that don't pay 1 day on the track.
Yea training a bitch to get to, hard to make it on time aswell, so I just made Thursdays.

Playing cricket is cheap as, my fees last year were $240 for the season(6 months) and NO ball fees at all, once you've got your kit together, normally lasts 2 to 3 seasons. The expensive part is the pissups after the game. I'll proclaim it now and challenge anyone to contest it, Cricketers are the biggest piss heads on the face of the planet, bar none :D

Playing cricket is cheap as, my fees last year were $240 for the season(6 months) and NO ball fees at all, once you've got your kit together, normally lasts 2 to 3 seasons. The expensive part is the pissups after the game. I'll proclaim it now and challenge anyone to contest it, Cricketers are the biggest piss heads on the face of the planet, bar none :D

thats what i was getting at with the expensive bit... there's always a bus trip with stripper every season... there's always beers after/during the game... there's always new stuff to buy... just like bikes... ahhhh

Yeah but this was an exact replica of Mr smith from the matrix, lookin angry in a suit with no gear but open face helmet. However, duely noted, babes do hang out on scooters for some reason!

My God UWA is good for that :) However there has been an increasing amount of thong + boardshort wearing metro guys rocking up on scooters with their cooler than thou clothes. Pulling up next to them on the VTR is totally worth it :)
