Feck yeah, you were certainly going much quicker than I have seen you go before. All I saw was the blue flash come past a couple of times and piss off into the distance.

I don't think we will get too much rain, drizzal if anything, not enough for wets but just enough to piss you off on slicks.

Fingers crossed :)

Twas a great day's racing, one of the best state rounds I can remember.

Congrats to Stu and Ralph and the other champs. Congrats to Benno for getting into the 57s bracket.

Hope the commentating didn't send you all too sleep.

You did a pretty good job commentating Trev.

At least you know what you're talking about which is better than a lot of the commentators i've heard over at club rounds in the eastern states.

This is probably not the best place to ask but meh..

Trev (racers)

I was listening to you guys yesterday and at one stage you where talking about optimum engine temperatures. You mentioned that the optimum performance temp is usually around 100 deg C.

Sorry if this is a silly question :P . Why is it so high (100C sounds very hot)? and how do they get it so high.

Usually when Iím circling the track at full pace (03 zx6r) my engine temp is around the 85-90 deg C mark. And it only goes up to 100 when i come off the track and park it, the fans usually kick in by this time.

Cheers

Davo

You do get a lot of family and friends that may not know too much about racing specifics and i'm sure it keeps them entertained

It is what I see on the dyno. Most sportsbikes do not make their best numbers until they are over 100 degrees. This is I believe because the injection mapping richens up to help protect the engine at high temp and thus with a bit more fuel they make it a little bit more power. Tulky also mentioned in response that this what a good 'cheat' when injected bikes first came out, that is people would trick the temp sensor to read hot by putting it in a slightly different position or what have you so the injection system thought it was running hot and would therefore supply a richer mix. This was before the wide use of Power Commanders etc. But still today I see it all the time on the dyno, more often than not on Jap sportsbikes the best numbers come up when the engine temp is registering more than 100c.

Yea it turned out to be a great afternoon, weather fined up and the racing went down to the wire. from what I heard Trev you did well behind the mic.

Well done to Ben for pulling off a win, and of coarse Stuart and Ralph for there Championship wins.

B) Great racing down to the last race in Superbikes and Supersport. Congrats to Stuart and Ralph taking the respective titles.

Ben was at his best - PS happy to give you a free radiator guard for the Kings ;) .

Doesn't get much closer or better from a spectator viewpoint

Cheers Warpie
