Hey peoples, I've trudged through the search function and was unable to locate anything similar (except barfies thread on the commodore 64), and thought it might be nice to show us what are the things that showcase your childhood. Could be anything from toys, music, cars, clothes etc. (I notice that old frt started something similar in the for sale thread with his morris minor ), Oh and yes, we will know what generation you're from.
Here's a few from me with more to come.

lol... I remember when to copy a game, all you need is a twin tape player :D and game and watche games only had single screen... when donkey kong came out on duo screen, it was awesome :)

but one thing I remember when I first came to Australia for a holiday was seeing a water pressured toy car, and all you need to do is to pump it up, and it would ride off at great speed.... that was probably around 30 odd years ago... really wanted one, but my mom didnt let me get one.... never really seen one like that ever since...

Yay, Conkers! Played that when my parents took us back to England for a year (Grade 5) in '92. I managed to go out with girls based solely on my knowledge of Neighbours (which I made up because I never watched the show). Got my first kiss off of my lies though :-) (The more things change, the more they stay the same...)

There's a game my brother and I played as kids but I can't remember what it was called.
It had a motorised tank and you both had a gun at the end of a track that shot marbles under the tank to make it change direction.
If the tank reached the end of the track, it triggered a spring that popped your "gun" in the air and you lost.

HILLMAN HUNTER!!!! HILLMAN f%$king HUNTER

Surely to goodness one of the worst pieces of crap to ever come from England.
My poor parents had one, on the back of Andrew Cowin's win in the London to Sydney marathon.
Three days old, dead on the front lawn for a week.
Window winders fell off.
Glove box fell into my mother's lap.

One of the cars would have been a joke, if it wasn't for real

Does anyone remember seeing / having a bike (like this but bigger) that would have the big wheel at the front, usually a "gear stick" (3 speed) on the frame. Most people who rode them usually wore black jeans, flanno's and these

79593

Or these (I still have my DB's tucked away somewhere)

79594

How about some politacally incorrect lollies

79595

Also remember having a milk crate tied to the handlebars of the bmx and used to take all the (glass) soft drink bottles to the deli or Action for a refund to spend on lollies n' shit. Alos used the milk crate to hold the "Daily News" when I had a paper round. (Daily News was a paper Perth used to have which used to have a page 3 girl, which was cool delivering / perving at when you're 12. Also in the cartoon, we used to see who could find the "hidden" mouse)

We were watching with an ex-employee who was giggling her head off.

If you have a read of the local papers a week before this happened it was quite interesting.

I had one of these as a kid, a full size plastic 303 rifle toy.

I recall being out in the street pointing my shooter at a bird on a light pole and an old bloke (I was probably 12) who may have been on Kokoda, stopped his car and yelled out "Take that home to your father". I had a good giggle cos I got one haha!

Do remember Boans, only just though.
I do remember being taken into the city as a kid on the diesel trains with windows that you could slide up for some lovely fresh diesel tainted air, then upstairs to Coles Fosseys for chips and gravy
I beleive that they are showing this on 72 or something...

I thought they were fairly easy to get hold of, couldn't find them in any retailers. Thank Al Gore for online shopping!
