2006 KBC VR-2 Legend, I have had it for about 3 months now.

I wouldnt buy one again though...

Negatives

- Noisy (top vents whistle even when closed, cheap glue has been used to mount them as one is lifting already)
- Cant' close off all the front vents (I had to duck tape the inlets on the inside up)
- Chin webbing doesnt come back far enough (lets too much air in underneath).
- Plastic mounting clips on side of visor are weak (broke off after a months ownership), now has no ratchet movement, comes up when you turn your head to the side and doesn't seal right.

Positives

-Cheap ($350-ish)
-Very Light
-Nice fit
-Doesn't fog too easily (good ventilation)

For my CL-14 they were $19 for the HJC one... or $35 for the Oxford version. The oxford one just shitted me no end - but the HJC one was AWESOME!!!!!! I imagine the price would be about the same.

lol, nice, let me know how it goes if you get to test it before I get to :P

although it will be my first helmet, other than my cheapo AGV $90 helmet I bought from Cashies so I could drag race :P
The one I am picking up has a clear visor, which is probably better for me seeing Im just starting out, and need to be able to see absolutely everything I can without worrying about tinted visors, dimming my vision or something :P

To all those who complain about the XR1000 being bloody noisy:

Go try an AXO RR6 (if you can still find one)

Then, after you get your hearing back, we can do some comparisons :P

For the record - I got an XR1000 in Diabolic III which replaced my old carbon fibre AXO RR6 :D

i just bought that helmet but in the red.I hope its not gonna be as bad as you make, as in it all falling apart.. or maybe it is the user :ermm: :P .
[/b]

Definitely not the user, my last helmet (HJC) I have had for like 4 years and it is still going strong.

I haven't even used the visor that much and the clips simply snapped (yes, it was installed correctly). I haven't used the top vents either and one of them is actually lifting off the helmet (cheap glue I presume).

I would suggest blocking off the two side vents on the front of the helmet, cold air pours in them and you can't block it off with the slide switch (it only blocks the middle vent).

Realistically I think the helmet would be good as a cheap race helmet (I believe this is what a fair few crew get them for) but as an everyday commuter type helmet it blows.

http://www.ls1camaro.net/freehosting/DSCN1486.JPG

Now all I need is a MIG 29 to go with it and i'll be happy!!

It actually is a motorcycle helmet but it is Chinese and doesnt have any Australian Standard certification...or any sort of certification at all  the shell is made of fibreglass and has quilted padding inside it. There are two visors that fold down; a tinted one as per the photo and a clear one. The big black bit with the Commie insignia on it does not move.

I second that! It'll surely increase the survival chance on the road.

Wonder if the glass/plastic bits will break to pieces if the helmet crash against the gravel though...
