Just drove past scary scene at Kinross Vs Marmion Intersection 8:50 ish pm.

Flashing blue/red, car into wall, bike on side, body under white sheet.

Never fails to make me feel very ill.

Hopefully I have a vivid imagination. Hopefully everyone upright and safe.

One of the ladies from work witnessed it.
Young couple on a dirt bike came out of nowhere and got hit by a car. The girl pillion was taken to hospital - apparently not too good.
Very sad...

Just heard on the radio - 17yr old rider died at the scene, the 19yr old pillion is in hospital in a critical condition.

My condolences to the riders family and friends.

Lets hope the pillion pulls through.

Some at work told me they heard on the radio this morning that an 18 year old male was killed in Kinross last night.

Terrible. If the driver said "I didn't see him" I would have gone spare barking mad if I had been there.

From the looks of how the vehicles were (And im no crash expert!) it looks like the car was travelling North, turning into the bike that was traveling South and pushed it into the intersection. The vehicles were close together ish so not a major speed thing I wouldnt imagine.

Damn crying shame. Poor bugger, hope it was painless & quick.

I thought it had a bit too much fairing for me to think it was a dirt bike, but it did just glance. Your mind does fill in the blanks sometimes.

Just saw the news pictures,

The guy was a 17 year old from Edgewater it looked like a blue HJC helmet and the bike looked like a yellow VTR 250. The car he hit had major damage on the side. So it looked like the car turned across his
path... Surprise eh

I would say from the impact damage on the car there was some speed involved but it is an 80 zone.

I was thinking the same thing.

Tragic any way you look at it, condolences to the family and friends, and here's hoping the pillion recovers ok. :(

The rider was called Brett Georgel, taken from the Wests death notices.

RIP Brett.

Police are apealing for witnesses who saw the crash, http://www.police.wa.gov.au/MediaAndPublic...leases/2623.pdf (http://www.police.wa.gov.au/MediaAndPublicAffairs/MediaReleases/2623.pdf)

I guess there can never be a good end to these situations but I hope they atleast throw the book at the driver if they were at fault.

Sorry to hear the pillion won't make it either

RIP Brett

James on the other hand is doing well, besides the broken arm/rist, shoulder, and some other breaks.
He got tunnel vision in his right eye, slowly coming back. Lets hope it comes back fully.

He still has his skull in the fridge, hopefully putting it back in his head in the week.

Just a little update for all.
