G'day! MAD Ride raffle bike owners?

G'day all, posting my first thread...

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on PSB and get in touch with any riders that own or were part of putting together the PSB Making A Difference ride raffle bikes from past years?
I own the 2008 Angry Bee CBR600RR and been wanting to get some history about it and the people who were a part of putting it together etc too
Keen to meet some new fellow PSB riders and get out for some rides!
    Cheers!

Put them up on imgur.com. You'll need to sign up if you're not already, but it's quick & painless.

Nearly all remnants of the former M.A.D Ride (Making A Difference Ride charity organisation) have washed away from existence. Google now results in very few informative pages.

The dedicated website http://www.madride.org/ is now owned by a Chinese domain sitter/squater.
The PSB forum section is gone, also the MAD Committee areas etc.
I think there was a Facebook section https://www.facebook.com/TheMadRide which is also gone

    MAD short-short history:
The chief beneficiary of MAD was Shenton Park campus - part of RPH rehabilitation division. This has now been closed (4 October 2014). The spinal research and rehab treatment here has helped many motorcyclists in Perth.
With the advent of newer hospitals such as Fiona Stanley and the other new hospitals (ie children's hospital which remarkably still hasn't eventuated) there wasn't as much of a drive to continue the fundraising in lieu of the huge investment by the WA Government itself.
Notably the MAD organisation gained a huge amount of momentum around 2007 particularly with the Casey Stoner Ducati and major events ie: Scarborough beach event with many displays and a huge turnout. The cost of many of these major events were however cost negative and over time the momentum has dwindled. However the bikes were still being raffled each year till 2012
Another reasonably high profile organisation named "Make a Difference WA" also started which is sometimes mistaken to be involved with PSB MAD.

As far as I'm aware the work that went in to the MAD Charity was 100% volunteers, absolutely ALL proceeds less the cost of actual events/ticketbooks/motorcycles/modifications went to the beneficiary. This kind of dedication from volunteers was one of the most impressive aspects of this charity which is surprisingly rare, given the generous sums donated.

I'm sure others that were much more involved could be more informative, if they are still about. Barfridge, keys?

The bikes if memory serves correct are
2006 - Casey Stoner Honda Fireblade
    2007 - Casey Stoner Ducati 999
    2008 - Angry Bee Honda 600RR
    2009 - Valentino Rossi / Fiat Yamaha R1
There was a ~50cc scooter in here somewhere
    2010 - Rizla Suzuki GSXR1000
    2011 - Castrol Honda / Casey Stoner Honda CBR1000RR
    2012 - Causeway Aprilia RSV4

I have pictures of most of these at home, will try find some if anyone interested. I have a lot of photos of the RSV4 which I was fairly involved with

I too would love to know what ended up happening to all these bikes

I'm still around. Was on the committee from 07-12, put in many many hours for the cause. After MAD wound up in 2013 I had the pleasure of handing over a cheque for $137,000 to the spinal unit at Fiona Stanley (the successor to Shents, both in the role they play, and where most of the staff went).

Happy to answer anything I can

    This is the original post

After much secrecy and planning, it is with great excitement that the MAD Ride Committee, ISR custom fabrication and racing, Prestige Honda and Motorcycle Panel and Paint introduce this year’s 2008 MAD bike, the Angry Bee Honda CBR600RR.

The bike is a brand new custom Honda CBR600RR with stunningly prepared and detailed raceglass and road fairings. New levers, rearsets and Howler exhaust are just a few of the many details on this bike to set it above the level of a standard showroom machine.

This complete package includes the expertly prepared and customised ISR racebike, pit stands, tyre warmers, leathers, helmet, and pit crew clothing package, all ready to roll on its own trailer. Also included are vouchers from Trakdayz and MCRCWA Racecraft, so you can hone your skills and get the most from your new machine. K-Tec racing mobile mechanics have also stepped in and offered free servicing for the first 12 months after the lucky winner takes home Angry Bee.

All parts required to convert to bike back to on-road condition are also included, completed in a scheme that matches the personality of the unique race paint.

We would also like to thank the other valuable supporters of this prize including the Motorcycle Racing Club of WA, Trakdayz, Kaneg motorcycle accessories, Howler Exhausts, Racers Edge raceglass, Oceanside Embroidery, Matthew Kuhne, K-Tec racing mobile mechanics and Perthstreetbikes.com.

Tickets are $20 each and are limited to 3,000. The bike will be drawn at the Perthstreetbikes.com Christmas party on December 17 2008.

The bike is available for viewing during most weekdays at Prestige Honda Motorcycles in Melville and will be appearing at many of the big motorcycle events of November.

Tickets Available Here Project.R Raffle - About M.A.D - The Making a Difference Ride (M.A.D) - Raising funds & Awareness for spinal cord injury research and rehabilitation

    Good Luck!

Here's some proper pics I've finally taken of Angry Bee: https://postimg.org/gallery/3el7ow3gm/
I put a couple of the track fairing bits I still have with the bike on and cleaned her up.
    Enjoy!
