    Talking Hello everyone

    Hello everyone,
I'm Niko 30yo chic from Perth WA. I passed my learners for RE and have done 3 lessons so far and absolutely love riding!! I'm looking at starting with a kawasaki ninja but if anyone has any tips for a first bike or experience with getting one themselves, or with a different bike, I would love to hear your feedback.
Stay safe over Easter and looking forward to being a part of this group 😁

Ninja is a great bike to learn on. Always indicate and always turn your indicator off when not turning.

    Welcome to PSB.

Possible first bikes that will allow you to enjoy riding for longer before needing something else...
    MT-07
    CBR500

a couple of decent sized bikes with good ergonomics that will allow you to appreciate riding, without having to put up with having to rev the bikes hard.

Ninja 300 / Yamaha R3 / KTM 390R are also pretty good, however have a sportier riding position.

Thanks, also you said when I get a bike I can start looking for shadows.... I want to get one now so I can practise what I learn in lessons down my road, but, more then 1 friend has said I shouldn't get a bike until I have passed and finished with lessons otherwise if I get one I will form my own habits on it and doing things wag ahead and possibly incorrect to what the instructor teaches... I can see what they mean about forming habits but I really wanna practise.... What you think?

    Hello and welcome!

I would say just buy a bike! I'm in a pretty similar spot though I bought a bike the day after getting my learners permit. I picked up a couple of bad habits from before I took lessons But they were easy to break out of. Also helps meaning you don't have to do lessons all the time just to get that practice in (if you have a shadow of course)

Yes so true! How did you get the bike to your place though? Did you get a shadow or get it dropped off. Cos I have had 3 lessons and haven't got to riding in full traffic yet so even if there's a shadow I don't know how confident i would be riding the bike home....
