Honda America has a recall for the crank bearings, not sure on Australia but worth typing in your vin into the recalls website. The problem I see is that the bike isn't in any warranty as its at least 8 years old. Let us know how you get on

Itís a issue with the crank and Honda issue a service notice that only lasted to 2015
They donít want to know about it now
Thinking if other people come forward we can all give them shit lol
Apparently the crank was heat treated properly and the crank gear and clutch is where the noise comes from
They say aggressive clutch movements trigger it of and wears the gear
Honda say it doesnít effect the engine or performance I figure if no other years apart from 2008-2010
Donít make these noises neither should these

The way I read the issue is the mains wear and allow float at the clutch end of the crank hence the whining between the gears. The clutch pressure plate is also a know area for noise.

I'd suggest excessive whining is an excuse for a crank rebuild along with high compression pistons and cams.

The sound is more likely the same as the Duchati whine.
It is from lack of WSBK wins.

Is that why every Kawasaki made in the 2000s does it?

WSBK is for peasant third rate manufacturers (Honda don't even have a factory team there).

TT and MotoGP is where it's at

Strangely I canít find a thread about Kawasakis whine. Not even from the 70s.

Honda donít want to embarrass themselves in WSBK to have a factory team and continue to loose regardless.
