I rode past the Bourke sign on Friday, was going to get a pic but couldn't stop as it was raining and it looked a bit soft on the dirt.
    resting up at Cooktown tonight.

Just managed to get my hands on a very basic camper trailer. Unfortunately it'll have to live on the verge out the front, can anyone recommend some options for securing it? I did a brief bit of looking around at hitch clamps, wheel clamps, chains....any preference? I realise someone with enough time and will can get through pretty much anything but I need something to prevent a random just hooking up and driving off with it!! Our neighbours are pretty aware and it'll be highly visible!

Leave it with the wheels off on block and take the hitch off. Thieves will think someone beat them too it...

Just be aware the council may have issues with it being parked there all the time if it's on the verge

Sacrilege!! Maybe a high tensile length of chain and one of these: https://www.bunnings.com.au/lockwood...dlock_p4211084 would suffice?

Or even one of these: https://www.bunnings.com.au/master-l...-lock_p4211289 ?

We have left the Gold Coast and travelled through To Rathdownie. Three days here after just initially stopping for lunch. A thunderstorm Friday saw us decide against the Mt Lindsay Road.

Lovely camp ground and national park to visit with mountains and cliffs.

Driving through a National Park. Mt Barney Road area.

This little fellow was over inquisitive. We had a bit of a territorial battle going on.

The sales people for solar power had me thinking $3,000 dollars handed over and all would be sweet.

My mate decides lets do some wiring to the car and van a couple of Anderson Plugs and a Second hand $50 solar panel. So far it has kept us in business.

    Mt Lindesay Road

Wow what a road, climbing with tight turns the surface quite bumpy. I was just finishing this sentence, " I would love to have my bike on this road" when a roaring engine with impeccable timing shot past us. I said to Mrs Lin he is struggling with this corner. The road turned to wet approaching a tight right hander and throw in two pot holes plus a suddenly wet surface. The rider braking as hard as he could before finally committing late. The two pot holes bucked the rear wheel off line. The rider just made it through the corner and was soon disappearing as he enjoyed the ride.

I stopped at the NSW border and the motorcyclist called out "Hi". I replied and he said "
That was a bit of a stupid thing to have done!" "I got caught out with the water on the road just there and scrubbing in a new front tyre". "Yes, I had said to my wife you were in a bit of trouble."

Ross the rider possibly a bit older than me struck up conversation, Racing RD350s, riding Suzuki Titans etc. He regularly road the road wearing out his foot pegs but not in the wet. Gave great advice on roads to take. Then all to soon I looked down at the caravan and saw that look. Yes time to come here and drive again. I bid Ross goodbye. I could have spent so much time with Ross tho.

I know that road quite well. There is a tiny town called Grevillia on the road to Kyogle and Woodenbong (true name) and my brother was married there, the inlaws have a farm there where they have just started growing organic coffee. If you stay on the main road it can loop back to the north and into Warwick (Morgan park raceway ). Be aware of the high volume of trucks and narrowness of the roads. Take care we want you back.

We camped at BigRiggen caravan Park Rathdowney. This was taken on the Mount Barney look out road. I was not sure if this was Mt Barney as there were three mountains their to choose from. One had a sheer cliff and spectacular.

We went through Warwick on the way to the Gold Coast. The trucks were let's say differnt. In WA we are in contact with drivers and they have always been helpful and give us thanks if we arrange passing opportunities. I did this for one truck out of Warwick. Advised we will back off at the overtaking lane so he can pass. We just got a steam of abuse from other drivers. Then a stream of bitching about car drivers. So after that the two way went off stuff them. We have driven through to Tenterton today. Fantastic bike road up close to 1000 meters. Was quite hard with the van on wet road so kept spends down.

Photo from camping Saturday night. First time I've left the stove at home and relied on just a campfire for cooking. Used the jaffle iron.

Set my swag up on a stretcher with a -5°C sleeping bag and had the best sleep I've had in ages (the rum might've helped). Didn't wake up till 11am.
