I don't get it.
People who ride motorcycles arguing that the risk of getting bitten by a shark, which would have to be 100,000 times less likely than getting killed on the road (pulled this number out my arse), is big enough that we should kill top level predators in their home.
Take a breath people.
There are bigger things to be worried about.

Whether we need to reign in sensationalist bullshit is an entirely different story, but as it stands the only way to combat shark sensationalism is by trotting out "meaningful responses".
Okay, think of it this way: If you've got a bee problem in your roof, do you move house? no, you call pest control. Where's the outcry there?there are more deaths per year from bees and wasps than sharks. So why isn't there an out cry about this?
I literally just killed a wolf spider that was hanging around the laundry.
It kept coming back after I'd put it outside (twice in a week), but we have pets and they're the priority. I didn't like killing it, but felt it necessary.
In all honesty i don't have a strong opinion either way. I don't know enough about the subject and sometimes playing devil's advocate is fun. I just really wanted to argue with that loudmouthed turdnocerus.
So i'm happy to keep spouting that i'd like the option to shoot the odd shark that won't fuck off from the beach every now and then (because ultimately it doesn't matter).
If you can't push past an argument on an internet forum, about something you're not a specialist in WITHOUT instantly resorting to childish insults the minute your opinion is challenged, you need professional help.
Its all good on Ducati's
All I remember is that 30 years ago people used to ask me if I was afraid of getting eaten by a shark while windsurfing a couple of kilometers off the coast. I told them I never even thought about sharks, besides someone only gets killed every decade or so. More recently it seems that people are getting killed every 18 months or so. Something seems to have gone wrong.
Having said that I tell people that if you are worrying about sharks while windsurfing or surfing you are doing it wrong.
But then there is that instinct, I was windsurfing at Safety Bay a couple of months back when this dark shadow flashed past me. I hat a brick but it turns out it was actually a dark shadow, from a kiter.

The rate of all unprovoked shark attacks Australia wide has almost trebled in just the past 20 years. That's the interesting story.
Is there such a thing as a "provoked shark attack".
Taronga Zoo researchers define provoked/unprovoked.
Eg dragging a mako into a dingy = provoked. and stupid.
