It just totally ruins the user experience.
But hey, you can buy a sticker.
If you can't fix search, replace with a link to www.google.com/#q=site:perthstreetbikes.com+$query
I don't understand why that is so bloody difficult? Even as a temporary fix until you fix it in your development environment...
... would also suggest running a development copy of the code-base so that the guys can actually do changes without breaking live, and running version control of some description (git/rcs/whatever) so you can track changes and see what broke stuff/roll-back/etc.
And I'm not 15 but it's nice to acknowledge a post by clicking like instead of cluttering up a thread with a pointless reply.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?
when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
Never thought i'd want a forum to change, it is what we make it.
But I'd like it to be more transparent with forum corporate sponsors, we don't have to lick their arse if they do wrong.
If we keep it up, ALL local business will die, there are still a few good ones left.
Random internet quote;
"When customers share their story, they’re not just sharing pain points. They’re actually teaching you how to make your product, service, and business better. Your customer service organization should be designed to efficiently communicate those issues.”
I blame the Internet.
Seriously, I thought Gen Ys are supposed to be the whingers.
With the way things were, I'd imagine the funding support was lacking. This would be the likely priority at the moment just to keep this place running whilst minor easy fixes can be done. Harder stuff takes more time, resources and funding which hopefully should build up over a longer period. Tim is not a magician afaik, but a benevolent dictator he is teehee.
look where you want to go~
Ian, your dispute with a forum sponsor has been noted.
Having communicated with both parties, both of you are waiting for each other to call to discuss it. Given that neither of you has called each other, I won't allow you to use PSB as an avenue for defamation or libelous comments. It would be exactly the same for any other business even if they weren't a forum sponsor.
Completely off topic, but why should a customer have to call a business to resolve a problem if they are both aware of it?
Anyway, on to more important things. How's that search engine coming along?
It's good news that these issues are on the table for the techy team to fix. "Likes" might gall some, but in a way it is another form of user moderation and encourages a response to a post without cluttering a thread with needless quotes - it need not appear in the visible avatar sidebar of users.
Simply, more activity in the forum is a good thing? (again I am talking about the forum - the PSB community fractured itself via other social media when the forum seemed to fail, for whatever reasons)
Even more simply, fix the basic functionality of the forum and let the organic part of the user-base take it from there.
