    beer marathons
    mad
    xmas parties
    rep
    search
    cannonballs
    etc...

basically, go to netrider, or asb.
    do that
    then add something unique

maybe make it into a profitable business model first
I'd offer some advice in that regard, but lets be serious - it won't happen

Spot on. It used to be about riders riding, and bikes, with occasional parties, titties and gay chicken. Where did we lose our way...

Family, kids, work is what comes to mind after single life comes to an end for those who chose it

I'd like to go on organized rides but I can't due to my family commitments but have been on gnome run, xmas charity run, black dog. Met few ppl in person. Choose not to name so I don't forget anyone. But local, regular meets as a club or whateva is one thing to keep it goign.

and don't forget streaming sport channels

Purely from a forum perspective, a rep system for users similar to bodybuilding.com would be good, allows people to identify the forum scum quite quickly. And a rating system for threads out of 5 stars would also be good (good things in life, dubs wants to know etc... would all be high rated threads. What colour biro threads would 0-1 star threads.

From a motorcyclists point of view, the rides section is what most interests me. That is the heart of the social aspect of this place. No idea how to make it better, but that is what is unique here and that is what should be focused on increasing.

There are some serious risks associated with this. Whilst I think it could be great for the future, the risks must be weighed up.

One very glaring risk at present: How many people in the new Club would have a criminal record? How long before it is declared a criminal organisation and we're in the same boat as the Outlaw motorcycle clubs?
It's not that long a bow to draw.

I'm not fazed by these laws, as we'll win eventually, but it is a consideration that must be reviewed, and I believe is one reason that PSB never went this way before.

    + Like funcion
    + Search function
+ Noob section (maybe rename 250/LAMS) with active moderation to move threads there instead of everyone losing it over the same question being asked.
+ Either have a shop or don't have a shop, just make up your mind.

    - No rep system, well not unless you want a reddit tier echo chamber.

Also maybe admin could email inactive users with a questionnaire to get some feedback on why they are inactive? Also look at some recent case examples ie. masonitefirefox.

One thing that needs to happen IMHO is everybody should pay to be a member , I think this will really help to run some event's , The few other forms i am a member of charge a lot more than psb fees

    This is the thing...

Why pay $20 when you can go over to Facebook start your own group start inviting people and run the whole thing for $0...

    - - - Updated - - -

A good example of this is the SupermotoWA FB page...

It is active, has For sale posts and runs with little effort...

    Xmas party's were good
    Mad was awesome
    Roadside assistance was good

The community we once were .
The thing is a few people put in massive effort to do these things under the PSB logo.

Yeah, but FB is where they went...

They started a group, invited there friends, who invited their friends and started talking shit and organising rides...

That is where they all went...

    - - - Updated - - -

Even as early as '08 people from PSB were starting their own forums for a select group of friends...

Then came ASB, and SWR, and PR still ticks over I believe...

Dilution of people going other places...

If you say, "You gotta pay to stay", there will be an even greater exodus...

Do think supportership should get you more than a warm fuzzy feeling
(have been putting renewal off till I needed one)

Maybe a year sticker or something

Having said that, will be renewing before "new management" does what "new management" always does
    and puts the prices up
Note: this may not be the universe where the above is relevant.

I honestly dont think much can be done, I never really experienced the "old" PSB but I have heard A LOT of stories from some of the ppl I ride with who were around then. And it does sound like some great times were had but the reality is thats all in the past.
People grow up, get families and start to realise doing 200kph down the freeway on your back wheel with a rego disc over your plate can have some serious consequences. Riding friends have accidents some loose their lives this makes people re-evaluate things and where their priorities are and riding a bike is not up there.
