Anyone watch "On Par with Paul Gow" the other day.
Had Casey Stoner on for the full half hour, had some
interesting things to say, some about both Rossi and
    his fans.
Probably not the right place to put it but he echoed
some of the thoughts of people here.

Listening to the Australian MotoGP podcast at the moment...

Question: Yamaha are going to have a big reset next season with Jorge Lorenzo off to Ducati. I'm sure he's going to be well compensated for it but there must be a bit of a risk given Ducati has won one grand prix since Casey Stoner left them at the end of 2010. How do you see that move working for him?

Mick Doohan: I think Ducati is a revitalised operation. It's got a new technical director, they seem to be on the on the right path. Lorenzo...my thoughts anyway...staying with Yamaha with someone like Valentino is not the right career path for him, with no certainty on when Valentino is about to retire. So if he can go to Ducati and make it his team and they continue to want to win rather than just compete then I think that will be good for him. Certainly Valentino is leading the show at Yamaha and has clearly got more experience with Michelin and knowing the Michelin engineers from the past I think is helping. However I think it's a good thing for Lorenzo I think it's a good thing for the sport and I think next year will be exciting having a true front runner on a Ducati.

Mick also couldn't pronounce Maverick Viñales' surname

Wings debate is getting a bit sour with Honda and Ducati disagreeing on who's fault it is that they are banned next year. Some interesting comments from honda.

First chance for Marquez to win the championship this next round. Bit of a long shot however still possible. Anyone else think that this scenario is a bit against the grain to what you were thinking at the start of the year?
Ninety nine percent of the people in this world are fools. The rest of us are in great danger of contagion.

The only time I've been surprised buy him winning the championship was when it was his first year.
After that I have pretty much thought (at the start of each season) he was going to win every year.
Since his arrival I'm only surprised when he doesn't or should say didn't win the title.

As mentioned in the article, Honda has had 4 different winners this season. A far cry from the situation they thought themselves to be in pre-season. Yamaha says they haven't got worse, the other teams have just gotten better.

If the Yamaha isn't the underdog (as its always been for 30yrs)
why isn't Pol and Smith romping home with trophies like every man and his dog on a Honda?

I still don't think that Honda is top of the pile. It just looks frightening at times.

    Miller/Crutchlow won a rain lottery.
Pedrosa ticked all the boxes once, the rest of the year, nowhere.

Marquez has just ridden really, really intelligently, had some luck and the usual out of the world saves [ Aragon for example ].
Rossi some bad luck/dumb crashes. Lorenzo's head is, well somewhere......

I'm hoping this Vinales fellow can shake it up a little next year, otherwise wiser faster Marquez on a better Honda will slaughter them.
