Looked through pretty much the whole thread, very interesting project can't wait to see it fired up.

interested, as I'm building similar but my theme is it is made up from all the spares I have lying around the shed so opposite end of the spectrum to this build!

    40MM off GSXR1100M.

Has pistons from 1127 fitted (1052 Engine), cams and springs with 6 speed box from 750 (weakest link?)

Why did you choose that gearbox? No idea about how it will hold up to the bigger engine, but the cogs in mine are still great.

Wanted an 1100 oiler with a six speed box and didn't know of any other alternatives without spending a zillion dollars.

Guess time will tell but I'm not a massive masher of gearboxes unlike my Brother In Law but that's another story LOL!

The delay on these pistons is pretty frustrating. Worse, it looks as though they're NLA on the Wiseco website, suggesting that I may never receive them. And with OEM oversize pistons being NLA also, it seems as though the sensible and reasonable choice would be for

Sound reasoning! The kits involve new liners and the two sizes have different compression ratios, so future rebuilds will be new liners any which way.

But Wiseco have FINALLY given me a date - 15th of July. That would be preferable so I hope they come through.

    Totally stalled at the moment.

Engine-wise, sourcing the pistons has been really frustrating. Ironically I was initially hoping to get away with a simple re-ring and hone, but once Ray let me know the cylinders were ever-so-slightly oval I had no real choice (I could have settled for less compression and more frequent servicing due to petrol in the oil) but to go for an oversize piston. With OEM oversize pistons being NLA (I hate that acronym with a passion) it was down to Wiseco. Unfortunate, as despite making great pistons, they're slow and innacurate at communicating lead times. Apparently they should have produced some more by this time next week - fingers crossed. Once the barrels and head are machined then they're off to potato to be sprayed in Gun-Kote, before final assembly.

Frame, swingarm, forks and bodywork wise, I'm waiting for potato to stop playing demolition derby on the roads of WA No pressure if you're reading this mate The colours took an age to settle on as the first choices were pretty specific to very limited production Porsche models and the formula couldn't be found. In the end I gave up and found an alternative which will do the trick nicely.

Otherwise my body has been injured, the weather miserable and work a bit tiring. Add in the RS250 being up and about (huzzah!) and somehow stumbling in to a thing with the most beautiful girl I've ever met in real life (sometimes I poke her to make sure she's real. Yes, that's a euphamism), the inclination hasn't been there to get in to it.

That's not to say that I haven't been accumulating shiny things. There's bearings and bolts and such sitting there, waiting for parts to come back.

Hopefully there's something worthwhile to report on soon.
