15mm to 40mm higher, and 12.5mm back to 25mm back.

Just need to paint that bracket for the preload adjuster.

That'll do, enough to keep the feet clear of the black stuff!

The problem for me was that my knees weren't even hitting the tank mate, so getting the knees to sit nice and snug in the tank was downright impossible for me at least. Now that's solved

Just ordered a set of lightech chain adjusters, and am considering their bolt kits as well.

Probably just going to focus on minor details items now since a lot of the major work that i wanted done on the bike has been completed.

I'll probably give it a wash sometime soon and take some good pics of it.

What was the damage if I may ask, they mob OE reckoned ~$1200 shipped? I was looking at a Penske but the equivalent Penske was ~$1900 and I'd hate to think what an Ohlins is

Holy hell has it made one heck of a difference to the bike. My fat ass must of been bottoming out the stock suspension or something.

How heavy are you? Most jap bikes aren't designed for much over 80kg's at the most Even my BB was only sprung for ~87kg, and given I'm around 140kg that is way undersprung I replaced the OEM shock with a rebuilt/resprung CBR900RR shock which worked well for a long while and was rebuilt again by DT but I think it's now time to bite the bullet

Bumps are being absorbed, but there is something weird going on with the front. It's fairly bouncy when there is consistent bumps in the road.
I had DT do my forks that had been fitted with Ohlins valving by the previous owner adjust the damping which improved them but mines the opposite, great on large bumps but still harsh on small sharp bumps Might get the shock and then go back to Russ

Wilbers online shop is saying ~1600. I paid $3500 for forks and the rear and install.

Russ @ Dynotime asked me for my weight (155kg, i know huge heffa) and he ordered the correct spring rate and valving and all that lovely jazz. The OEM stuff was okiesh....... it just.... it was better than the GS500 let me put it that way, but only marginally...

The ohlines setup was 4500, but even Russ said you'd be pretty much paying for just the name in the difference

Happy to let you sit on the bike and bounce about if you wanna feel it.... i dunno that'd help you or not heh.

Ah OK, just looked on there at the 641 and then checked your pic and you've gone for the remote preload as well so accounts for the extra

That's good, 155kg's! I thought I was big I had to do the fork springs pretty much as soon as I got the bike as she was bottoming out under brakes while stopping from any decent speeds on the rough roads near work

The ohlines setup was 4500, but even Russ said you'd be pretty much paying for just the name in the difference

Yeah that's pretty much what a lot of other BB forums said as well, most in the US go Penske, the UK either Maxton or Hagon and the EU guys Wilbers or Hyperpro! The freight is a killer on any though
The ones that go Ohlins have deeper pockets or are racing the bikes

Thanks for the offer mate but a bit far from me and I figure after the 900RR shock for over 100 000km's anything will be an improvement Was just curious as to how you felt it had improved the ride given you are a big bloke like me and whether you were happy with the result?

Eh you are in Wanneroo, if i decide to go for a ride over the weekend up the coast i'll pm you mate.

It's DEFINITELY an improvement. Over bumps it's absorbing it all rather than just transferring all that energy into my spine. It's not squatting anywhere NEAR as much as it was before, and sag wise it's much improved. Due to the swingarm not being as high/straight it's also changing gears alot easier now too. I was getting quite a few false neutrals, from what i gather the chain being too slack due to the swingarm being near on horizontal or more...

Am i happy with the result? Fuck yes... definitely money well spent, although it is quite a fair bit more, it's definitely worth while IMHO. Now to book in some track time..... when they decide to re-open the track...
