Our third night in my motorbike tent in the bush. Out at cave rock and now near Coolgardie. Great bush tracks a bit missing from the side rail many scratches to buff out. Did bit of the Holland track as well today. Was dry and many bog holes are very deep when you can see the bottom. But diffent to the last trip with SHort Steve
Victoria Rock is worth a look, sounds like you may have done that as it is on the Holland Track.
Ahh! this brings back memories of various sorts, lots of early WA history around this area.
Yes that's right on all counts. Bought some Nissan white paint last week
Outline of our Easter Trip.
Day one we did some tracks out through the back of Roleystone and then to Hyden for a fuel up. No shops or supplies for 600 kilometers. First night at The Breakaways. Then we headed East past Holland Track and onto Cave Hill for night two. Day three we headed up Cave Hill and then through railway embankments, and tracks.
A bit of the Holland Track and then onto a lesser used track with many diversions around fallen trees and bog holes. Reached the GT Eastern Highway and aired up. Night three at Karralee Rock. Day four we headed through to Mt Palmer ruins and then onto the air crash site from WWII. Through to Beverley and then homewards.
Pics or it didn't happen

i found burra rock a nice spot how they built the wall out of the rock for the damming of the water interesting stuff....
Had a good weekend in Leeman with the family. Plenty of well worn tracks hugging the coastline and have some nice fishing/ camping spots saved on the gps for next time. Never hit any spots soft enough for the TC to give me the shits on the Nav though so I might have to hit up the sandbowl in Gnangara and have a play around with the settings one weekend.

Ok, going to do a quick run of the Holland Track over Friday/Saturday/Sunday May 5-7.
If anyone wants to come along, plan is for all to find their own way/time out to Coolgardie for an overnight camp out a Victoria Rock camp area Friday arvo/evening. Then Saturday head off to Mt Holland, maybe a few short stops along the way for pics and a quick look around. Sunday complete the track towards Hyden before all finding their own way home. You will need a minimum offroad range of 300km +, be self sufficient, basic recovery gear and a reliable vehicle. Heavy duty tyres and suspension are recommended, but VERY careful driving should eliminate chances of staked tyres or damage. There is some big ruts/holes out there, so be aware. If it has been raining, track will be interesting...
is that a long weekend steve?

A possible for Holland Track. I had job interview today! And heading to Kalbarri and Carnarvon leaving Sunday.
A long shot. Does anyone have a standard Nissan Patrol rear shock absorber. I have a bush gone on mine and leaving Sunday for a trip.
Nos, was that the truck up Mt Augustus way?
We saw the truck in September 2016. Ashburton Downs Road was very slow going from Mt Augustus for around one hour with care needed on the dry water crossings.
Opened out later.
Sorry misread your post. Yeah the road is quite eroded is some places, they had the road closed signs out to stop the caravans and tourists.
We came across a lot of shredded tyres on our trip. The rocks are very sharp hence we took it easy on the vehicle and tyres. Two did not know how to get the spare tyre off and one had no tools to unwind it down and the jack could not lift the vehicle. Cost them $550 to get the Tom Price tyre service to attend plus the tyre.
I now wish I had got into this four wheel driving years earlier, but making up time now.
