Huh, didn't pick up on that till you pointed it out. Judging from pictures, the stockers are slimmer. Might pick a set up, depending on how things go

You'll be fine with them I reckon. They aren't *that* loud, and they have a much nicer note than the stock ones.

As long as they'll get it over the pits, I'm not too fussed

I reckon they'll be ok. If not you could make some kind of temporary baffles for them.

A relatively un-damaged pair of stock GPX exhausts may be somewhat hard to find.

True. I imagine almost every GPX has been dropped a few times by now

    So haven't done much recently
Synced the carburettors, which was a task and a half
Need some new engine intake boots though, the ones it had were badly cracked

    So, a quick update

Got the new intake boots from Two Wheel Wreckers, who were absolutely amazing. Then I popped into Mack 1 Kawasaki Wangara and grabbed a pair of new spark plugs. Recharged the battery and now it's starting beautifully every time.

Unfortunately the petcock now leaks while in the on position and the engine flooded. Throttle cables also need adjusting, but I'll be doing that after I work on the petcock and float bowls

yea that would be a float issue for sure. either not set at correct height to cut off fuel or just not seated correctly so it cant do its job.
my gpx has had the fuel in the "on" position for over a year and a half of my ownership + whatever the previous owner done which looked like it hadnt been touched in a year before me.

The bike was stored for two years before I bought it, so I'm thinking the petcock problem has been caused by age, wear and the fact it's suddenly being used. I might rebuild it, but I am looking back at a new tank anyway as the current one has dents

So pulled apart the petcock, got that working nicely again.
Also pulled the carbies out again and gave the float bowls a good cleanup.
Got some more oil in the bike, some more fuel and made sure the battery was fully charged.
    And now I've got this:

Cold start, no choke. Fires up every time.
Going to work on the fairies and making it -my- bike, but for now the old ones will stay on until I get some experience

Jeez... not many of those engines ever start without choke.
The greatest excitement comes from besting who you were yesterday.

    Sounds like a plan Drew
Just got to get Christmas out the way so I can start putting money into it again

Edit: Just noticed your location is High Wycombe. Will definitely have to catch up some time as I'm often down there for work
