I have been reading through quite a few previous threads regarding learning to ride and finding shadows etc, and I understand the general consensus is to get professional lessons. I am doing this with a great instructor, but as an impoverished uni student (haha), I can't afford more than one lesson a week at the moment (even whilst working two jobs!). I am finding that the lessons are great, but it would be even better if I could practice what I am being taught between lessons. Unfortunately, none of my mates are bike enthusiasts and therefore I don't have any buddies to help me out. I know there is the list of shadows in all the Perth areas but I also know that I am not at a level of riding to ask for a shadow per se. I don't want to waste anybodies time.
Is there anyone out there who just enjoys nice slow rides on quiet back roads with particularly new riders (for somewhat less remuneration than lessons - fuel/great company/coffee/lunch?) ? I completely understand if there isn't! I guess it would be nice even just to meet a few other riders around the area (Wattle Grove *home* or Murdoch *uni*) to talk bikes with and maybe eventually meet up with once I do get some more experience!
During my lessons I am riding the instructors bike and it is just a shame to not be able to ride my KTM at the moment =(
Anyway, any suggestions or replies from people in my area would be greatly appreciated! =)
