Pebco didn't like flush mount indicators, yellow only said straight pipe (lol), tinted screen, and inaccurate speedo (also lol, apparently I wasn't doing the limit? My speedo said that I was! )

    This is the problem.

You should not have bought that bike.

Tip: Don't ever buy a non-standard vehicle (ie car or bike) again unless you have a good understanding of ADRs and licencing laws.

Getting that bike through an inspection is doable, but will be a pain.

The first step is to get in contact with the seller and see if he's got any of the original parts left.

Tip #2: When modifying any vehicle, ALWAYS keep the original parts. Including muffler/exhaust. When buying a modified vehicle, don't buy it unless you get the original parts with it.

If you can't get the original parts from the seller then you've got some shopping to do. Your inexperience will make this difficult.

Your immediate challenge is to start collecting the required parts - front mudguard (and mounting bolts), rear mudguard, rear indicators and tail light.
One owner. Only driven gently on Sundays. Sold to best offer. First to see will buy. Reward offered for safe return. Coming soon to a cinema near you. Available for a limited time only.

My waterbed broke this morning. Oh, I don't have a waterbed. Bugger.

Would need some time to order some parts online, so would not be able to get everything done by yellow sticker due date( +2 weeks)

    A. Do they mail you infringement ticket or something if defects are not fixed & inspected by due date

    OR

    B. Is it ok if you just don't drive the bike till everything is sorted?
    Thanks.

The answer is B, and you will have to get a permit to take to the inspection place or Trailer it there, . What parts are you after? Seriously those things are a fairly common customised bike, throw out a request on every forum you can find in perth.

Pebco are a bit nasty these days, Tried to registered my bike but they would not believe what was standard for the bike.

Lucky the compliance plate where the VIN is, it shows the dB the bike runs at . otherwise would be a pain in the butt to prove them wrong.

I've been there a couple of times.

The owner of Pebco, Pat, is desperate to keep doing DOT inspections.

He had to fire one mechanic a year ago for passing a Commodore with the wrong camshaft.

After a shitload of dodgy inspections at various places (ie lots of cash bribes) DOT have cracked the whip over the last couple of years and has all of the workshops paranoid.

If something gets knocked back and you want an explanation then go to the DOT Welshpool branch and ask one of the examiners there.

I've had cars knocked back elsewhere because of over zealous mechanics, and then been cleared an hour later at Welshpool.

Got it over with a slip-on on it, and incorrect gearing lel, but they don't exactly ride with a GPS to verify the speedo

How the fuck did they know it was the wrong camshaft? Do they actually pull a motor down to check? Or was it just that it was that lumpy it idled like a top fueller?

So why bother going to one of them then, why not go straight to Welshpool?

Ah, so you haven't tried calling any government department in recent years?

Massive phone queues for DOT these days.

For the last couple of years I have been using ANG Autos for inspections because I can book an inspection time on their web site without having to make any phone calls (ie I do this late at night). http://www.angautos.com.au/make-a-booking

If anyone knows of any other places that do DOT inspections and take bookings via web site after hours then I'd love to know about it.

No thankfully not Last time I needed to go over the pits was back in 2006 when we had our EL V8 Falcon converted to LPG and I needed to take it over, I just rocked up to Welshpool early as the installer said they were one of the few that did LPG checks, didn't have to book or anything There was a bit of a line but not too bad, maybe took an hour or so with waiting and inspection

    It's all different these days.

DOT started licencing private workshops to do inspections a few years ago.

It all went dodgy straight away. Certain mechanics and places were taking cash bribes and letting anything through.

DOT busted and prosecuted each mechanic and workshop as they heard about it. There has been a big turnover of workshops doing inspections.

The only DOT inspection place still functioning is Welshpool. Even the relatively new Osborne Park one got shut down.

The days of just turning up and getting in line are long gone. It's been all pre-booked for a while now.

Yeah I knew that private ones had been doing it for a while, even before I'd talked to you about it and I'm not surprised it went to shit as that was what happened when it got privatised over east
Thank fuck at least we don't have green slip inspections every year so the cunts can gouge us for the privilege of getting our cars/bikes checked
