    How to test

    Gday guys
My zx10 is working flawless so have been trying to revive an old 05 525 trail for a bit of trail fun..
While installing front wiring for indicators (oem) the electric start will not work.
Newly installed turn signals work but when I push start button it's dead, no relay click nothing.. can kick start bike fine, but when lights and indicators are on at same time they are duller than when on separately, also horn fades as it drained out of power. Any idea of where to look for problem.

    Cheers in advice

Battery has dropped a cell. Just because the lights work, doesn't mean the battery will start the bike.

Put a voltmeter on the battery when the bike is running. Will probably read 14v or so.

Now turn the bike off and put the voltmeter on the battery. Should read just above 12v.

Then with the voltmeter still on the battery hit the start button. If the volts drop right down, it means the battery is cactus.

Alternatively take the battery into Battery World and they can test it for you.

Ended up being a pulled wire coming from starter button. Must off been a little ruff when installing indicators. Appreciate all comments. Cheers lads
