We'd like to let you know that from 23rd February 2017 InsureMyRide insurance policies will no longer be issued.

What does this mean for me?

    Existing InsureMyRide Customers

Rest assured, until renewal your current policy remains unchanged. After 20th March 2017, you will not be able to renew your InsureMyRide policy for the following year.

You may however receive an offer in the mail from Shannons to arrange a new Motorcycle Insurance Policy or NSW CTP Green Slip.

When an offer is received it is important you accept it before the date on the notice or make alternative insurance arrangements by that time to ensure coverage is maintained.

For further information please visit our FAQs page or call us on 1800 093 876
The last time I got a quote from them they were considerably more expensive than anyone else, which was strange.

Whatever you do, stay the fuck away from Youi, pushy scaremongering sales people.

As reference when I went looking last October for the Brutale these were the prices (all for the same market value)

    Swann $1142.48
    RAC $1987.23
Insure My Ride I don't have an actual value, my note just says "Ridiculous pricing"
    Shannon $1200.00
    AAMI $1936.45
    Suncorp $1996.32
    QBE $1044.00

All those were online quotes and I was able to get a better price by calling Shannons, ended up cheaper than QBE. (Multi policy discount probably helps a lot there)

    Use these guys:
http://www.mi-bike.com.au/insurance/...sive-insurance. If your part of a club, get a further discount.

Underwritten by QBE, but on a motorcycle specific treaty, meaning cheaper premiums etc.

Multi policy discounts don't count for much - you'll be losing something somewhere.

Excellent timing, I just received my renewal notice yesterday. Thanks Sprint for the heads up

Edit actually I should have read it first, It's simply a letter confirming that as of 23rd of Feb they wont issue new policies or renew old ones.

SGIO were cheaper than AAMI and a few others when I last did a check around for the duke of windsor (can't recall the prices as it's been a while). I've been with SGIO for a few years and have never had any issues claiming (1 write off due to not at fault accident and 2 other claims due to people trying to steal my bikes). Always willing to pay out in circumstances and I have never had a pushy experience from them to date. They were also one of the only ones who gave an agreed value that wasn't a ripoff (or tried selling me "market value"). If you're looking around you might as well give them a go too no?

I have no affiliation to them, just a happy customer.

yep i think so, Shannons are apparently sending out offers to existing clients ( mentioned in other thread ) i remember going through suncorp as i had to phone them about something at the point of sale of the new bike. impossible to find a contact number, but the dealer said try through Suncorp and once i got hold of them they were good.

it was good while it lasted

Anyone have experience using Moto i insurance? They seem relatively new - underwritten by QBE and have a low price guarantee.

Yeh Nah I went with Shannons...after Insure my ride...sent out a misleading document..

Same policy for bike $3000 cover for gear /helmet/etc.

Payments as compared to lump sum won it for me.

BTW-- a $500 stack writes this unit off...I am covered though...can pick Mr Potato as the repairer...and have same value ...not red book bullshit.

insured the Aristo with 'em too....nice ..easy ..helpfull..professional. My kinda folk.. :-)

    Yes.
They will not always be cheapest, but I put them on a par with some of the better ones out there. Additional benefits include gear etc without having to note it specifically.

The Only QBE product I'm recommending to my clients in the current market.

...in other news... i got my Shannons offer yesterday, as per others' feedback it now has $3k gear cover (vs IMR $2k).
Premium seems reasonable so i''m pulling the trigger.
