How to remove front forks without removing body work

    Hi there,

I am trying to figure out how to remove my front forks from my gsxr600 2011. I can remove the clip ons and top tripple tee, but cannot figure out how to access the lower tripple tee bolts without removing the entire front end body work. There just isnt enough space to get a wrench in there.

I am sure this must be possible because I know garages do it this way, do they use a special tool, or is there a special technique?

If you don't have the correct tools to get in there like a small ratchet and alen key set then how about supporting the bike from the roof by strapping the frame and removing the entire triple clamp by taking the top triple off and then undoing the bearing set and dropping out.

I think it will be easier to remove the fairings.

This ^^ is what I did when I did my BB, I could have fucked around laying on the ground and reaching up or taken the nose cone off (major PITA) but found by strapping the bike to the rafters lifted the bike enough and took all the weight off allowing me to undo the wheel/forks etc and drop them out the bottom
I would have thought with USD forks it would be easier?

The issue is not undoing them but getting a tension wrench in there to do the pinch bolts up.

Ended up buying an Abba Superbike Stand, so will remove the body work, check the torques then remove the steering damper. Going to check the steering stem bearings then change the oil on the steering damper.
