Put your dicks away both of you.

You both know a lot. Rich knows more than most for an SXV owner (he was dumb/smart enough to buy several for parts, and didn't get all Monday bikes), and Hillz knows more than you think.

Cool thanks a lot Hillz. I might need a chain guard if he got one spare. I had to chop my original today as it was rubbing on the 150 tyre however i was thinking i might fab up a custom out of ali.

Heres the bike in standard fork motard trim. Going to take a bit of modding to the crf front end and hunting down the extras so might as well enjoy it now.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Beringer looks sweet however has the worst electrical connection points for the braking. Half the size of normal connection points. Its on the little round gold thing in the picture below. For something thats got a good possibilty of being crashed seems a very delicate part.

Very common on motorbikes tbh. Don't stress, leave a bit of wire loose and the cable tie with some give in it. Worst case you crash - it rotates, and draws some cable...

I've got a Braking system on my XR - absolutely brilliant bit of stopping power!

New headlight arrived. Had to purchase a h4 connector as well. Got one from auto barn this morning for less than $7. Only thing i had to do was silicone up the exposed wires at the back of the plug.

Looks better than original however not sure it's a lighting upgrade. Haven't tested it at night yet. I bought a cyclops led but that won't work as i didnt realise this bike only has AC power. Never had that problem before so just wasnt aware before ordering. I can get a ricky stator kit but theres other things that need sorting first and im still waiting on other stuff.

After stacking it a few years back on some rocks I realise how good barkbusters are in saving your gear. Only problem I had was the bar mounts cracked and gave way so i thought I would have a go a fabricating some mounts that attach to the top triple clamp. Hope these are going to be a bit stronger. I've left the angle on the back to help stiffen the flex in the direction towards the back off the bike in an impact.

Anyway this is what I made them from and attached to the bike. Just need to give them a clean up to remove the sharp edges and a lick of paint. Just waiting for some lights to arrive before I do it as I'm getting sick of taking the bolts out.

Spent a few hours on Friday night installing the trail tech vapor. This is the only item I bought from overseas. Wanted to test it out thoroughly before posting.

Pretty simple install. Hooked up the power directly to the old speedo light bulb wiring. No cutting just poked the wires into the connector on the brown and green wires and taped it up. Lights up the screen now as soon as the bike starts.

The screen is pretty neat, easy to read on the go, has revs which I like and you can program the warning lights to come on for gear shifting. So as far as it goes I give it 10/10 gecko points.

Tested the halo headlight. The adjustment spring needs to be a thinner one. Screwed all the way in the low beam light isnt far up enough on the road. Would be perfect for riding trails at night however makes it hard to see far enough ahead at road speed. The high beam is good as it really throws a out a focused bright patch up ahead but again is a little too close for speed.

So just waiting for a slip on to arrive. Ordered some jets.

Pulled the carby out Thursday. Wondered why the bike seems a little sluggish. Its been uncorked partly. Airbox baffles are out, inlet rubber is hrc open, jets are 175 main and 65. Only problem is the exhaust is stock so im thinking its way too rich up top. So ordered 178 main and 68 and hope the open t4 is really going to wake it up.

    Lol...just the time.

Be a nightmare missing that many kms. Cue hospital bed, doctor leaning in with a concerned look, friends and family looking on with sad expressions. Im sorry but youve ridden 90,000km on a SM while in a coma. Nooooooooo!
