Will spend a $100 bucks on a few parts and see if i can get the 6 back on the road for a work bike.
Just lucky aami never sent anyone out to look at the bike and check the kms and sun damage... Just went off the 4 photos i sent and the quote i got... Win of the year ! :-D
Normally a repairable write-off is deregistered and has to go through repaired inspections from only a few places in Perth. If that's not the case you are very lucky

Take the bike into get the inspection first and see what they have to say about it. Motorcycle masters do the repairable write off inspection and won't be cunts about it

Damn...ok well i have been told that gixxers need the engine rebuilt (or top end?) After 100 000 k's. Is this true. Just wanting info as will be looking at getting a r class bike later this year and have preferences towards the gixxers.

I rode it every day... The only thing thats gone wrong with it was stator and reg last year. Still gets the same 300kms per tank before hitting reserve just like when i got it in 02. And the gear box is probably smoother now than when it was new.
My 750 has 54,000 on it and runs like new too. But that had a stator and reg go the year before as well... I put it down to lots of heat riding in peak hour too much.

If the bike has been looked after, then no, they shouldn't need a rebuild any more than any other bike. A friend's has just turned over 150,000 and isn't having any issues. My two Suzuki's that I rode and put 100,000 kms on, still purred like kittens and will no doubt be on the road for many more with out issues.
