But that's the same as saying global warming is wrong because it was cold yesterday. Climate change is a general trend over a long period of time, usually from when we started recording temperature to now. There are bound to be anomalies along the way
Yep. But that is what the climate has been doing for millions of years.
El Niño cycles approx 60 years. We have mini 'ice age' mini hot spell in the 60 years.
In 15th 16th century we had a mini Ice Age.
    It just keeps cycling.

And where are the waters stains on the first floor of Manhatten buildings that were predicted by Al 'Forrest Gump' Gore?
Sea levels have fluctuated as much as the weather. Gee! They might be connected.

    Can we break it down to;

Do you believe that the polluting impact of humans makes no difference to the environment and/or planet?

If you answer no is it because you are religious and the Great Architect has created the world for humans to use as they see fit and said Architect will save us when the time comes?

If you answer yes, is it because you apply logic?

Yeah. Exactly - Cos releasing carboniferous fuels that have sequestrated over billions of years in a few hundred can't have ANY negative consequences

Yes I absolutely believe that humans are having a negative impact on the environment, in many different way. Which is why it fucking infuriates me that the entire discussion has been hijacked by absolute cunts who want to make a fast buck (or push more sinister agendas) by promulgating the bullshit that CO2 is our biggest problem and by taxing people and redistributing the money according to their agenda the problem can be solved. Meanwhile REAL issues which could have REAL solutions get ignored because there is no celebrity status to be gained.
The next person to regurgitate the ridiculously meaningless "97%" wank is welcome to have 97% of my boot up their arse. I'd say 99.9999% of people who know anything about science would agree that the climate is changing... just as it always has and always will.
I hopeto see the day that Gore and his cultist followers are jailed for the biggest con in history (well maybe on a par with the Catholic church)

We survived the eruption in Iceland ok.
The Indian Ocean is not lapping at my feet.
Calculations were that the one blast threw as much CO2 etc into the atmosphere than burning fossil fuels have done since we started using them.

I haven't suffercated. I see there are still plenty of whales to harpoon.
I did see a Loggerhead Turtle trapped in a plastic bag.

So CO2 is not a problem?

    What other real solutions?

You really should take some time to watch those vids I linked - the guy is a long standing science writer who doesn't stand for BS or ideology. I would be more interested in your response to a posted link than your vague assumptions about "stuff" and a a "guy you know" if you are going to debate a topic about science as opposed to politics

Anthropogenic climate change is going to get a real boost when the new gas hydrate drilling platforms have fails.

Atmospheric CO2 is nothing by comparison. Billions of tons of subsea methane held in crystallised solid form by water pressure can be rapidly released by silly monkeys boring holes into the ocean floor.

Shit can and will go quickly pear shaped when that happens.

Oh yeah, on topic. Scott dressed well. A refreshing change from the common and garden variety ferals.

The hatred shown toward this dude is unbelievable.

He made one small error....so what?

He went...what about lisa scaffidi...made 50? odd mistakes and still has a job. She even offered to make a $40,000 bribe, sorry, donation.

What this dude did is way less harmful than Bronwyn bishop and her helicopter flight and all the other crap our pollies do...

Maybe that's the real problem. He didn't fit in. The worse he could do was deny he was a kiwi. Can't have people that honest in our parliament.

I know some people like to pay out on the Greens, but to find such viciousness directed against this guy is for me quite saddening.

I have always like to think that people that rode motorcycles were more of free spirit types, individuals able to think for themselves & not the standard prejudice holding type typical of tabloid newspaper readers.

This thread has been an eye opener for me.
