    Rheumatoid arthritis questions

Just seeing if any sufferers here, my wife has been recently diagnosed with it after 3 months of bullshit - misdiagnosis and false trails.

So far the 2 medications of choice (methoblastin and pedestrlone haven't been good for her either.

    Cheers

I've got gout in my left foot & arthritis in my fingers & left wrist. I was on prescription meds for it but it gave me horrible rashes. Now when I feel the first tingles I take 1/4 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water 4 times a day. I haven't had a full blown attack in a couple of years.
The correct number of bikes to own = N + 1, where N is the current number of bikes you own.

yep my mum has it its crap it does not just effect your joints it moves around and can affect all parts of your body she is on methotraxit (methoblastin) it took quite a while for the medication to kick in can also run in the family my mums mum had it. Mum got diagnosed a year after she retired at 66 was when she first felt the full effects. At the start before the meds finally kicked my dad had to sell his 4wd as she could not even get in the car. Not to frighten you but once they found the right balance of medication she is a lot better but its not a good affliction to have.

mmmmm Baking soda..? Bi-Carb..? ( would that also indicate a dietary shortfall..? or is it acid/alkali imbalance..?)

Magnesium supp. works as does Silica..symptom still evident ...but helps mobility..yet you really need to work at it... pain threshold maintenence..;-(

Sorry to hear mate, my Dad has had it for over 20 years now. In the beginning he tried everything to ease the pain and make it better, shark cartilage, drinking vegetable juice, honey etc you name it he tried it all. He has had a hip replacement which made a big difference, ie no longer walks with a limp and not in as much pain. In the beginning it was pretty fucked, he would come home from work and just lie on the couch due to the pain

In the end, after all the diets and what not it was finding the right combination of medication that has allowed him to best manage it. I believe he went through a lot of trial and error too. I'll ask him what he is currently taking!

Also, he has a magnetic bracelet too. He believes that this works well for him too....if he takes it off then he will really notice an increase in pain after a couple of days so now he wears it constantly...seems to work!

    start there

another bit of woo-woo to try, from experience

Wim-hof style tummo meditation & a teaspoon of Turmeric paste in a glass of water once daily.

Just don't get the paste on anything stainable.

Best to use turmeric as it is more of a whole food. Don't go overboard though - https://nutritionfacts.org/video/who...n-or-turmeric/

Do you see a connection in not only what we eat...but the way it is prepared.?

So ...eg; low salt/added herbs/spices---- reduce red meat intake----lower the portion sizes.. etc etc...

Middle eastern and Italian comparability of arthritis and urinary tract infections.? Due to dietary and exercise needs being met..?

Can we take a leaf from the Japanese and Chinese diet..? or are there still issues with the aged suffering like symptoms and afflictions.?

I have found diet to be a massive influence with respect to my tendon and more recently, joint issues.

I have been gluten and processed sugar free since 2012 but seem to have noticed a real difference this year when I also cut out natural sugars e.g. fruit, carob etc., and also rice, gluten free pasta etc - so pretty much paleo.

I also cut out nightshades vegetables - these include capsicum, tomatoes, potato etc. These are linked with worsening of auto-immune diseases.

I am so much better having done this. Do not underestimate diet - what I'm on is basically an anti-inflammatory diet.

I had been feeling better so for the first time in 5 years I regressed and started eating cheezels and choc coated scotch finger biscuits (my weakness)... while the effects weren't dreadful, I could certainly feel that they were affecting joints/tendons again.

well...... I take a silica supplement ( colloidal) it might be just sand...who knows?

Yet ..I wake from sleep in agony (hands under pillow with the weight of my head on them)........

Since doubling the dose..( still not full strength..) I have relief...hasn't stopped the growth of bone / cartilege on my hands.. ( ugly/unexpected..)

But... the discomfort has dropped so much that I can easily realign/crack my knuckles without cryin in public...( back and knees are good too... ? known trouble spots....)

Don't know if it is that.? you see I always go curry/spice/tumeric/cummin/cardamom crazy even though it's not cold here...in the southern winter months... even beat the flu this year...( Thank Fuk)

Grow Basil and make a nice pesto ( great laxative BTW..) An eat tuna/chilli everyday..

No shots....just lucky.... or is there a conection... I hope it's the latter. TBH.... :-)

I've been rubbing a turmeric paste into the missus' foot recently (bone spur and fascitis) and my own munted ankle (two screws and busted cartilage) after a hard day.

    I now look like a two-fisted power-smoker
