Ha ha... shame on him for being so good to get to GP Was the youngest GP winner ever at one stage wasn't he?
At that level, there is far more than just talent involved. He had major trouble with just spinning didn't he? Chassis problem?
Unless someone can ride as well or better, it really seems a bit rich to criticize eh?
Just needs some sort of translation like "He can only ride 10 x faster than me, so he is not as good as he should be. "

Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: "Wahoo!! What a ride!"

    Surely he enjoys racing.
And it's not like by not getting the #1 bike he's out of the running to win a championship.

If he has an opportunity to ride - I'd take it.

Unless he's pulling a very delayed Stoner and found his zen and has just had enough of it all.

I read the $ he's requesting isn't being matched but it's all hearsay. Personally, with his results lately I think he'll retire. I'd like to see him on the Yammy and prove that if he was on it all along he'd have won championships but with his seemingly declining form/results he could be excused for lacking a bit of self-confidence and self-doubt. It may well be the bike and jumping on the Yammy may reverse his fortunes but imagine if he had a lacklustre year on it - that would be upsetting to see. Conversely though he could take the chance and be rewarded greatly... bring on Sachsenring.

As Kristy said, if thereís only one 2019 bike supplied for him and Morbidelli, who would they give it to? The old veteran or Rossiís prodigy and the potential future of Yamaha? I can tell you who Rossi will be telling Yamaha who to give it to!

I'd say it's a given that he's not going to get the bike or $ he wants.
    Hence my third sentence.
He has no pulling power to be a #1 rider. Or demand the only #1 bike/package.
I don't personally consider him to be an alien anymore.
I like the guy. But he's gotta scooch over and let the young quick guys come through and find his new 'position' in a team - if indeed he chooses to keep racing / or have input.

Being kicked out of Honda was the start of the realisation that he's had a really good run (whether he really deserved it or not), but it's over.
He has been taking up a valuable seat.

Oh yeah - Rossi will be throwing his full weight around (has he ever NOT been?).

A few years ago there was talk of retirement/losing his seat. This didn't come as a surprise and I'm surprised he held it for as long as he did but there also wasn't another clear option and Dani was a solid #2 rider. Unfortunately the last few years really havent been too favourable hence the lack of surprise.

Some might also say the same about Rossi and his seat. He has taken up a spot for an up and comer. He's by no means past it and will probably achieve better results in 2019/20 than what an up and comer would but it did delay that transition period. At the moment Morbidelli has potential but certainly hasn't shone like Marc and Zarco - they have set the benchmarks I guess but shouldn't be the means by which we judge development. Goddamn Aliens ruining it for everyone!

Hindsight and all - but that would have likely guaranteed a longer future.

On one hand, I think he's not going to win another title and his highness stuborness is taking up a seat.
On the other hand - At least Rossi has lead/challenged for the title at some point during the season.
    He still surprises me.

When was Pedrosa last really competitive? Back when Stoner was around - competing for "the best of the rest"?

For sure Rossi is more deserving of the factory seat than Dani. (Did I just sound like Rossi saying 'for sure'? &#128514 Though he won't win the title he is at least getting podiums. Was just thinking through the old factory war horses. I'd say Rossi deserves to be there as he is top 6 but Yamaha could also have been looking to the future. Regardless of what they did people would say they should have done the opposite.

He is def faster than all on here. But thats kinda missing the point. There are other riders who are faster than him.

    When I give him 5hit. It ain't from a "I could do better" mindset...more from...if I were the manager I would........(hire someone else!)

He hasn't been outstanding and never will be at this level. Should go WSBK or BSB.

I went to defensive driving course when I was 20, most were 17-20 year olds.

They asked everyone, how they would rate their driving skills.

The number of people that thought they were a 9 out of 10 was incredible.

    I gave myself a 3.

That's not helping your brand. Though I don't have a lot of faith in Morbidelli in the long term, Scott's window has passed.

But hey, if prolific use of twitter (as well as a rigged electoral college, and Russian meddling, and the Democrats fielding the most unlikable candidate since Al Gore) can get a caricature of a realty TV personality elected President of the United States...
