Marshalls have no right to touch the riders, even in the case of an accident unless it was to get them out of immediate danger. Only the medic is technically allowed to touch them.

Any individual has he right to push someone away that is invading their personal space. All it shows was lack of respect and professionalism from the marshals, which when mixed with over excitement and enthusiasm can potentially place them or the riders in harms way.

    It's not just reserved for marshals either... photographers can get in the way too;

Yeah probably a storm in a tea cup when taking into account how he deals with media etc most of the time but I can't help but feel if it was Marc or someone else it'd be getting reported more than Marc's win. Unfavourable things have a habit of disappearing when Rossi is involved. I actually haven't seen/heard much about it - saw it happen, seen one thing on FB about it, and mentioned on here.

    No. It's not acceptable.

The race was run and won.
There's no allowance for abusing a volunteer, and a fan.

It's pretty hypocritical to thrive off the circus, and then give the people that wind the crank a shove in the neck.
The dude was probably pissing himself with excitement to be down there with his hero.
    They obviously worship the guy.

You can't let him pat you on the back or take a selfie?

If you don't like it - keep fucking riding and don't stop.

He's willing to stop in front of a stand full of his worshippers - who only paid a few coins to be there - but for the guy that's worked long hours for days to be involved and get close to the action and heroes ... he gets a shove in the neck...

You can bet if he won - he'd let all the commoners paw him til the sun went down.

Hadn't seen the footage before but it does make me laugh!

Okay, he could have handled it better..But if our lives were analysed down to about 5 seconds, others could find fault. I agree volunteers deserve a huge amount of respect etc but right there and then, I'm sure it was hard enough for Rossi just to

acknowledge his fans let alone have some dude throw himself in there to take a selfie. Rossi would have been spewing with HIS mistake.

Conspiracy theory : Lorenzo deliberately has been stalling on racing in each round to the last minute allow Honda to win the constructors crown?

I think some of it was bad timing as VR was waving to the masses and the guy has jumped right in front of him. It's also respectful to ask if it's okay to take a photo instead of feeling entitled. I'm sure the riders have to deal with that a lot and it must get frustrating.

I would agree with you if he was at a restaurant having dinner.

But he was on the world’s stage.

For a bit more perspective, when riders fall off their bikes and they cut out, who’s there to help them get it started again, so they can get back in the race and get points towards their championship challenge?

It’d be funny if the next time it happened, the marshals ran out, shoved him in the neck and went back to their post.

No, I’m not being serious, but the imagery tickles me.

I don't think it matters where it is. It's going into someones personal space. I don't even like someone sitting next to me on public transport.

So Lombok perhaps on the calender I read this morning.

    https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/90...onesian-motogp

Very promising for us West Aussies. Surf trip and motogp all on the same flight would be epic!

Maybe he yelled "Eat shit go Marquez!"

That would get a reaction out of him

Went to the races last weekend. There is still a lot of support for a retired Aussie.

Some fans didn't realise 3D is better than 2D.

A bloke we wont see out there again.

    Some wheelies.

A world champ with more to come.

    Some Aussie.

    It was hot.

But also rained a bit on Saturday.

When he was doing poorly he was fairly humble and I wanted him to do well. Then when he started doing well, the true Jorge re-appeared and gave me the shits 😂

From what I can see it’s just that the FIM now has its own testing and certification that all helmets used will have to meet.

That is a *really* interesting spread so far.

Not sure of the whole list, but the ones I’m aware of:
    - Maria Herrera
    - Bradley Smith
    - The Poon
    - [Edit] Sete Gibernau
