I regularly come across group rides whilst driving my truck, sometimes not optimum conditions to be riding such as 5am (fitting in a ride before work or avoiding the heat maybe?) on a highway riding double file (possibly taking advantage of shared headlights improving visibility) impeding my lane, i hear other truck drivers complaining about them but I've found this funny thing where if i flash my high beams from 100 metres back and engage the engine brake they quickly move to single file and i coast past at 20 or so under the speed limit, they even wave to me as i go past.

Dunno what the other guys are doing or expecting but I'm really not finding a problem with it, i attempt to be courteous and they respond accordingly.

Rego on bikes? The conspiracy theorist in me is leaning towards the belief that the government is exacerbating the problem to increase public outcry so they appear righteous in taking away one of the only freedoms we have left.

Its not a group activity , neither is motorcycle riding , some folk's choose to do such in a group.

a push bike event was on , Yay i thought , oh well.
i was caught behimd a team of about 10 Pink lycra monkeys doing 15 to 20 in an 80 zone,
guess what , they went from 3 abreast , to single file , and waved me through .
I shouted thank you , drove off with the thumbs up.

Having cycled back in the Netherlands and being in group rides
Wind is always a factor when you ride , (from the front side or from the back)if you go for cycle you can't beat being out of the wind .
In group rides (2 or more) people change from the lead because it is the most tiring and when you ride the wind always comes from the front .
People ride in 2 or 3 rows its not only a social ride but its also to have as little head(side) wind as possible .
    Do it

Really? In the scheme of things how many hours a week do you spend driving your car? How many seconds a week do cyclists hold you up?

It should because at some stage they must get to within 2m "behind" a vehicle even if to one side
I don't see anywhere it says "directly behind" in the link

Already seen one fuckstick that thought he now owned the road, was coming up behind him heading east on Hepburn Ave just before the RaB with 2 cars behind him sitting in the middle of the left lane despite the being a large emergency lane that he could have used or at the very least moved to the left of the lane
Thankfully I was in the right lane and was able to go past and dive into the left hand turn lane ahead of the idiot who then thought it was a good idea to drift to the right of the left turn lane but keep heading east thereby blocking any cars from getting around till he moved his arse past the left turn lane

Ummm, if theirs a groupie ,letís say rouseabout 20 of these fitted out pushies, in the left hand lane on a dual carriageway, do we still have to leave 1 metre, when passing in the right hand lane.
How far can this law can be accomodate the pushie Community.
An as well ,if their on the road, a P.D.A. should apply.
If they could have D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. printed on their bum, perhaps that mite please the justice system.

Whilst I try to be as courteous as possible to ALL road users (do to others as you wish done unto yourself......blah....blah.....blah), I often wonder if the self preservation mentality gets left behind when cyclists go out for a ride
What I'm trying to say is that just because I CAN ride 2 abreast etc. etc. etc. doesn't necessarily mean I SHOULD
I personally wouldn't want to be the one on the outside with large metal cages flying past me travelling way faster than I would be

This morning 2 cyclists side by side hogging the road, not the 2 wheels variety but the wider ones where they lay back low on the road with 2 flag poles.

Unlike the normal cyclist, they are harder to spot as they are so low and no visible vest. Hope they donít get run over by a truck.

No, they're not harder to see, they just don't match what you are expecting to see.
The 'vests' make fuck all difference on any bike (including motorbikes).
If you can't see an adult sitting in the road, please stop driving (anything).

+1 I was heading up to the range a couple of months back and there was a bunch of about 20 of the fruit cakes heading the other way along Perry Rd at dusk and several were almost on the centreline 4 abreast Could have been nasty if vehicle ran a bit wide coming out of the bend at 110kmh they were approaching

If the law is mandatory to everyone, cyclist ought to have no less then 20kph of speed limit.

Since the broom appears firmly attached to the bull bar I imagine the law would be interpreted in the same manner any intelligent, logically thinking individual would.

The extent of the vehicle now finishes at the tips of the bristles.

Go right ahead and do it. Donít imagine itíll be do long before collecting the 4 points and fine along with a trip to the pits to clear an illegal mod just because your a retard.
