They are, provided they have a max output of whatever the max allowed is (I think it's 200w)
Above this they are classified as a motorbike.

I'm pretty sure petrol 50cc mopeds are treated differently than electric. They've also gone to 250w when on pedal assist. Don't turn the pedals, don't get the power.

Call into Motorcycle Pit Stop and see how many damaged ones poor old Craig has to fix.

Keep them things well away from pedestrians.

Did they tell you they were thinking "there is traffic coming from behind so I'll now ride side by side for no reason other than to block them", or did you read their minds?

Yeah Einstein I guess there is the option that they're just so fucking stupid that they were unaware that a car was coming right at that moment, and had to brake to avoid them then follow them for a "considerable distance". Yeah that's much more likely, as is the fact it's coincidentally happening much more regularly since this ill conceived law was passed...

Always loved bicycles from when i first rode one at 8 years old in 1970 in sydney the same time i rode my first motorcycle a honda 50 cc minibike which i jumped on and nearly rode into panania high schools wall just turned in time i love both motorcycles and racing bicycles had Raleighs to malvern star 27 inch bikes.
My point is this they both have two wheels ride the same we should be united not arguing amongst ourselves cars are the curse.

    My take on the roads.

One of my work colleagues is against pushies on the road altogether. I argue you only see the ones doing the wrong thing and they are the minority.

Yeah, some cyclists have been cunts but I can usually outcunt most people. I think I am one all at the moment with cyclists.

So two dickheads out of an average of 300Km a week on the roads in the metro area is pretty good.

Four wheelers have a much worse strike rate.

Yeah you, the gutless piece of shit in the Audi, I'm looking at you!!!

1m when passing push bike seems ok , but it's not like anyone's measuring , If I think they haven't seen me coming up on them I sometimes give them a quick toot which can have mixed reactions from a friendly wave to a fuck you , either way I just smile and drive on by ....

Whatever happened to racing traffic on yah pushie..? ( from the lights at least..)

And going kerby when the need arises... 1m pfft! 10mm is clearance.

laws is laws.....The amount of bike lanes and specific pathways up here has had millions spent on it... ( statement:no facts checked...)

I only see lost licence cages on the weekdays riding to work. Weekends bring out the Lycra brigade.

It's one or the other. They either did it deliberately or by accident. Take your pick, I don't give a fuck... unless you have a third option??

Have or will have an additional 20mil spent on it.

But how do you get to these paths? have to use a normal road. Also some are created but are dam sh$t.

The ones around the freeways seem to be utilised quite a bit.

As the drivers of 1 - 2 ton death machines, we are the custodians of safety for road users.

We come up behind the cyclists. I really don't get the hatred. Giving a meter is just common sense and I do it not because its law, but because I don't want to be wiping of blood of by roo bar and my steel cap boots!

I don't like the penalties though as how does a cop determine one meter?

You know before 'bikeways' there was a thing called a footpath..? 1200mm wide ?

Cops will know you are within a metre of a cyclist.....'cause you would have run him over... simples...
