It should have also been picked up on the service
Its second hand and the guy i bought it off didnt mention it, and it had been 500km since the first service. Also isnt yamacool blue stuff from what i understand? Sorru my knowledge is embarrassingly poor

OK just for my sanity...Is there a large puddle of coolant under the bike..? ( answer yes/No to the following questions.)

Have you taken the rad cap off.. it's cold now eh..?

Is there water in the radiator...?

Can you get distilled water ?

    Can you get coolant?

are you able to check the overflow bottle for leaks?

Simple problem solving flow chart..... see where I'm heading with this..?

    oh yeh... DON'T panic.

The coolant would prolly not be full strength/without water added..

You can get it fixed anytime..

Adding distilled water will do no harm.... mixing coolants will do no harm.. in the short term.

The need to add more coolant is not that great... IF there is a visible leak ....that needs to be fixed before you attempt a ride around Australia....ok?

    Its factory coolant so green

LOL 1500km is still new, first service is oil change and inspection.

But from my experience from a highly reputable italian place they didn't even bother with that reset the light, stamp the book and out the door.

    Honda OEM stuff is blue???

Get a copy of the manual. It *should* specify either Type 1 or 2.

One contains silicates the other doesn't. As long as you match the types you'll be fine.

Sadly it isnt specified in the owners manual but im pretty sure a no silicate coolant is ideal, ill just go to the dealer and ask wtf their OEM coolant is

I assume when you say yamacool you mean the additive (with the green label)? Because you also got a maintenance one with a blue label

If your worried about the loss of coolant then see a mechanic for a tk test, it would be unusual for a engine with only 1000 kays on it to have a blown head gasket, maybe a system flush and a check of the thermostat and radiator cap.

I would agree with llbuono, there harm asking for a test.
The cost is well worth it. I often ask for tests to be done.
    Peace of mind. Good luck.

Its still under warranty and im a student, if i had a job currently i would gladly pay for a test, but sadly im just gonna go the cheap route and if the head gasket blows or coolant starts pouring out ill just bring it back to the dealer and get them to fix it... lets hope it doesnt come to that

^WHS..why you are even considering farting around with it is beyond me....other than giving the seller a reason to say you fucked it up and the warranty is void

FUCK THAT I would never mix the colour they do make coolant that is universal which may be the blue but no thanks.

Iím surprised the factory coolant is blue and yours is green, maybe it has been dumped already.

BlackFZR would know never had a new bike to say what colour factory is just assumed.

    Get it checked out
