Bikes vs Bikes (pushy c#ns ) warriors to your key boards / UNITE

    Mundairing weire road
we all know it , ride it , shit some or us feel some sort of emotions for it .
Today a friend of mine (cager) was caught behind 40 cyclist heading up the hill kalamunda end.
She basicly had to do 5 kmh most the way.

    So what , whoopy do

well this lead me to question , when is it a few pushys going for a ride and when is it an event ???
    Thats when the bomb dropped

    IT GETS WORSE
    conversation led me to learn

kalamunda shire wants to get more push bike lycra monkeys here .
Basicly MWR an official training route

    https://engage.kalamunda.wa.gov.au/bicycle-plan-2017-18

    '''Training Routes
The function of Training Routes is to provide training or sports cyclists with designated routes in which to
undertake long distance rides in on-road environments. Training routes are mainly located in the rural and
semi-rural portions of the City, including links such as Canning Road (south), Pickering Brook Road,
Aldersyde Road and Mundaring Weir Road. Welshpool Road East is also included as a Training Route as it
is the primary connection for training cyclists between the Hills and the Foothills.
Specific recommendations for Training Routes include:
    > Targeted widening of Welshpool Road East and Canning Road to provide more frequent, safer overtaking
    opportunities for motorists
    > Safety improvements to the Welshpool Road East / Lesmurdie Road intersection which has the highest
number of bicycle crashes in the City
    > A signage strategy to inform road users of the likelihood of encountering cyclists and encouraging safe """

Can people take a bit of time to fill in the survey in the link. Its takes a bit but please do, its worthy to provide feed back
We have to show resistance to this madness.

Personally I believe this is going to be extremely dangerous
The MWR, alderside and pickering brook roads should not be encouraged
The self entitled cunts are the cause of my closest near death encounter on a motorcycle .

    any way thats my 5c

and before any body starts with the questions about my road courtisy or shitting on me
I ride like a dick head
    ITS MY ROAD
I want to fight for it

Just tried to read it before doing the survey. Love it how they put family pictures over the pages to try and make you think that's all it's for.

Im rather blown away by this shit ,
this paragraph is for some of the back roads up here , not the weir road in this particular paragraph

    check this shit

" Safe Active Streets are cycle routes on quiet local streets, where speeds have been reduced to 30 km/h
to allow people in cars and on bikes to share the street safely. With lower traffic speeds, streets are
also much safer for pedestrians and children, and additional tree planting and landscaping make them
more attractive places to walk or ride.
Along the routes, bicycle symbols and surface colours are used to mark out Safe Active Streets and
suggest where bicycles should ride. Various measures may be used to slow traffic, discourage throughtravel
by cars and improve bike flow, including:
    > Single lane slow points, where approaching vehicles must give way to any car or bike already at or
passing through the slow point, such as the City has in Agincourt Drive,
    > Raised platforms at intersections, and
    > Narrowing carriageway widths by introducing on-street parking and garden beds.

These stupid laws of being able to overtake them on a solid white line is going to end in a death. It's almost happened already. I've seen it first hand. They are an entitled bunch of cunts. ( I'm tarring them all with the same brush but there are a few who are really good when they ride a pushy)

the 1 m rule is great for them..

Not so great in a line of traffic at the RAB...and D1 has to 5kph it for 50 odd metres...( when there's a cycle way for 20 fkn Km's to Dampier )

It's OK i'm always late for work.....

Bayswater has reduced two streets to single file with quiet a few more on the books for cyclists and children to play...the many times I have walked my dog along both of the latter I have seen zero of either. Cyclists still use the other streets and still ride in the middle of the road in groups having a good old natter while vehicles are waiting to go past.

Unless there is a groundswell of opposition against it the council drubes who push this shit will assume everyone is fine with it and continue to spend our rates on expensive under used facilities for minorities and close off more and more streets for these kinds of activities.

The latest is a fun run closing off Alexander Drive and Walter Road ...two of the most used roads in the area. Albeit a Sunday morning what are the people who live there supposed to do? what happens if there is an emergency? The excuse that its just once a year is wearing thin...seeing as the amount of activities is growing.

Bit of a thread jack, maybe, but it is not just cylists nor is it just country roads effectivly being closed off as some would have everyone believe.

My local council is going the other way and banning cyclists from certain roads because they have deemed it is too unsafe for them to be on them.

Makes a lot of sense on a narrow country road going around a bend at 100 to find a cyclist in the middle of the road and a car coming the other way.

What about not paying rego, cringe whinge ...
I don't road cycle for the low impact recreation or fitness, it's the lycra in public. I'm a freak..
The toots of encouragement from the girls, wiggling my ass.. The thumbs up from the cars and motorcycle riders are a buzz when your aching, straining and focusing for the rush.
Being the only road I understand the crying, BUT have you seen those girls cycling OMG....
Those super hot rock climbing chicks, they are leaving chalk polluting the scenery... can we start on them please.

While they let push bike riders draft the road rules etc, it just get worse for everybody else. I go past the cycle bridge at the Roe / Orrong road intersection a couple of time a day & have yet to see a push bike on the multi million dollar structure & associated works

As we say with motorcycle riding, time and place.
    The roads of concern here.
Well I personally think that people, someone will end up in hospital at best, its just a matter of time.
    Very windy, hilly, narrow.
Couple that with stupid recent law changes,
Lets just see how, who ends up collateral damage to the lycra monkeys agendas

A tough choice... ride over a cyclist and hope you dont come off, damage your bike or yourself or try and avoid the silly fuckers as they use the entire road up for their chinwag as they ride at forty k's under the limit.

Survey complete I think its a great idea. Now only if W.A could take a leaf out of the Gold Coast in regards to cycling infrastructure! It works for everyone. Anyway back on the dirt bike as no one cares about road bikes Perth doesn't even have a race track for them anymore.......
