" Imagination is the seed of life..."
Cool, but nah.
Cool for Bali and other overpopulated scooter areas. Waste of time for Australia.
I had a 70cc Monkey bike back in the 70's was a heap of fun but often people could almost outrun it on acceleration.

My only gripe with the Grom and presumably this if it uses the same donk, is that it's pitifully weak even for a 125cc. I had a full size 125cc bike in France (Daelim roadwin) that went like stink compared to a Grom I've ridden, likewise I've ridden a PCX 125 scooter and I feel like it too was considerably faster. Like I get it, it's only 125cc and will never break any speed records, but I did expect honda to at least match a cheap and inferior brands performance with a more modern and lighter chassis.
There are 3500 aftermarket parts on webike.jp for the Grom's.
Want a 241cc bigbore grom with a turbo, carbon fairings, Ohlins, forged aluminium wheels, billet single-sided swingarm? No worries.
The Monkey 125's are going to sell like crazy. We already have a list of people keen and the first shipment will sell out before it lands.

the list of loose nut people that want minibikes is not that big & the list of mini nuts with cash to throw at them is even smaller, but i spose thats what honda oz thought when they declared to never bring them in then back tracked a few years later & sold a stack
im all for people having fun on small bikes, ive been riding one since 2003 but on the road seems pointless unless you are running amuck with a bunch of other ones, i get bored on my motard let alone a mini death trap

I have no doubt there are thousands of aftermarket parts, they look great and seem fun to trick out etc, it'd just be nice if a bone stock one had the power to pull the skin off a week old rice pudding. Especially when what many would consider vastly inferior brands are reasonably faster with heavier chassis's's's.
But you're probably right, that's not why people buy them, it's not what they want, just my gripe. I would like to see how a 241cc turbo grom goes.
How about a twin cam, 4V desmodromic motor?
