    Lmao waste of time?

In 2017 Honda Grom sales beat the Yamaha MT07, Ninja 300, CBR500 and the Yamaha R3. The Honda Grom is the 4th best selling LAMS bike in the country.

Definitely sounds like a waste of time to me hey!

I had a 70cc Monkey bike back in the 70's was a heap of fun but often people could almost outrun it on acceleration.

My only gripe with the Grom and presumably this if it uses the same donk, is that it's pitifully weak even for a 125cc. I had a full size 125cc bike in France (Daelim roadwin) that went like stink compared to a Grom I've ridden, likewise I've ridden a PCX 125 scooter and I feel like it too was considerably faster. Like I get it, it's only 125cc and will never break any speed records, but I did expect honda to at least match a cheap and inferior brands performance with a more modern and lighter chassis.

There are 3500 aftermarket parts on webike.jp for the Grom's.

Want a 241cc bigbore grom with a turbo, carbon fairings, Ohlins, forged aluminium wheels, billet single-sided swingarm? No worries.

The Monkey 125's are going to sell like crazy. We already have a list of people keen and the first shipment will sell out before it lands.

the list of loose nut people that want minibikes is not that big & the list of mini nuts with cash to throw at them is even smaller, but i spose thats what honda oz thought when they declared to never bring them in then back tracked a few years later & sold a stack

im all for people having fun on small bikes, ive been riding one since 2003 but on the road seems pointless unless you are running amuck with a bunch of other ones, i get bored on my motard let alone a mini death trap

I have no doubt there are thousands of aftermarket parts, they look great and seem fun to trick out etc, it'd just be nice if a bone stock one had the power to pull the skin off a week old rice pudding. Especially when what many would consider vastly inferior brands are reasonably faster with heavier chassis's's's.

But you're probably right, that's not why people buy them, it's not what they want, just my gripe. I would like to see how a 241cc turbo grom goes.

I like it. With the original Z50 Monkey bike, they were slow as &@@$ and you had to put a stroker kit in them to get them to go worth a damn. now at least you'll be able to get a decent clip.

And cars were made in Australia.

As much as I love this bike, it's a bloody joke at $6000. And that's made in a country with cheaper labour. Hate to imagine the price if it was made in Japan.

im have been some what of a minibike enthusiast in my younger, slimmer years. i can still wheelie from here to midland but my runamuck days pissing off old ladies with dogs, & the passion etc are long gone. i even considered building a roadie but once i saw what the mean streets of perth were like i sold all those parts, i could only imagine actually riding with the traffic on one, kind of like jail... just waiting for it to smash you in the ass lol

those forks are straight out of a 1998 pitbike craze shipment, whole thing looks like its made out of the last shipment of recycled plastic & can be for they stopped buying it

i can see those piss full of importance jerks at Honda oz, "ey frank what are we guna put on this new zeder" "well Phil, we decided not to bring the grom in but buckled to black importer pressure and sold a bunch at 4k.. lets go with 6k, yeah retro tax" many laughs around the office with comments about how miniriders are stupid and shit eating grins

for 6k you could prob get a real zed some guy has throw 15k at

    and just because its friday

I bought a Postie Bike last week for $1k. What a laugh. Went to the Victorian Postie Bike Muster down the peninsula last weekend. 40 blokes on postie bikes pulling wheelies and boxing in Police bikes down the coast road.

$5k ahead compared to a Monkey Bike and had just as much fun.

Got a big bore kit coming, and I'm taking inspiration from this one aesthetic wise. I've got an XSR900, but inner Melbourne where you can park on the footpaths and most of the roads are 60-70kph zones, the Postie will be perfect.
