    Howdi Y'all

Hi. My names Andy. We live in Swan View. I'm a 38 year old father of 3 boys (12,10&3). I've always wanted to ride but one thing or another has always stopped me from getting a bike/license/gear.

We never seem to have 2 cents to rub together but I've recently decided to be selfish and bought a 250cc Suzuki Intruder. Got my RE learners permit. Been for a few lessons but keen to go for a few rides if theres any groups/shadows around.

I've been motorbike obsessed the past couple of months...annoying my Mrs no end. Watch alot of YouTube Vids etc about riding/bikes etc...haha.

    Thanks for reading my babble...lol

    Hi mate
Being a little bit selfish every now and again is fine, remember "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
Plus your boys will gain a bit of rub off street cred. Your wife is going to have to get used to you being bike obsessed for a fair while to come, learn how to do your own servicing will save you money and increase your enjoyment to outside of riding times (shed work with your mates/boys)
    Good luck

Welcome. I was equally as selfish, buying myself a motorbike for my birthday a few years ago. Gotta put your foot down mate, I bet you work hard putting food on the table and a roof over your families head. They'll be happy to see you happy.

I guess that makes me totally unselfish, crashed my bike just after I met the missus and was bikeless until ~10 years later when SHE encouraged me to get a bike again

Hi mate If you're ever in need of a shadow when I'm back in action I'll happily take you out, your reasons for riding seem genuine and I have a lot of respect for people like that. Even if they ride cruisers..
    Rest in Peace

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty hands on when it comes to fixing/maintaining my vehicles. Already dropped oil and changed filter, plugs etc. I'm afraid I'd have to be more entertaining than the older boy's Xbox to get them interested in anything mechanical. I spent many days tinkering away on stuff with my dad in his shed. Best memories of my life. It's like pulling teeth getting my kids interested in getting their hands dirty

He needs to ride. It is a common problem. Madness sets in when they don't ride.
Ryanoceros I have a couple of guzzis at the office right now if you need a fix.
Seems you've got a fat for the cruisers now so you could pretend the Griso is one too.

    Oh yeah, welcome cruiser bloke.

These rides sound awesome. I think I'm a little too green still for a night ride. But I'll be keen as mustard once I get a few more hours under my belt. I live about 10 mins away from work and have a guy from work shadow me at 0530 to work so know how to ride in low light but not full on night-time. He lives ages away so can't commit to more than 10 min detour on way home.
