Hopefully someone can help. If not, it's not difficult to ride clutchlessly as long as you have a reasonable amount of experience.

I'm currently walking it. How do you start a motorbike moving clutches?

There are two ways to get a motor bike moving with a broken clutch cable...

Either put in first gear and hit the starter, so it starts in gear, some bikes won't allow you to do this...

Or start the bike in neutral and with it idling push it as fast as you can, a down hill helps, and click it in to gear...

With experience it's not hard at all...

Remember to hang on... if you run alongside....when it starts you wanna be off the ground and aim for the bike.....you'll see why if hands on bars-feet on ground..;-)

Walked it 50minutes to a hill, started it first try. Rode the last minute home.

    Well done.

When you replace the clutch cable make sure it doesn't have a small kink where it goes into the hardware. It was a well known problem with LC4s that was cured with a cable tie

And lubricate the little "barrel" that goes in the lever to make sure it moves freely...

Constant kinking every time you pull the lever in fatigues them at the "barrel" to wire joint...

And new cable finally installed. I'll have to give getting the bike into first gear without the clutch a go on some flat ground.

Combine jump start practice. Engine off, ignition on kill off run beside the bike pushing and when you cant push faster jump on select 2nd gear drop clutch. A useful skill.

Also good for dropping bike and breaking plastics.

You want to do that, get a 600cc tenere and try to do a burnout in an oil patch and watch the thing dance down the road on the back wheel whilst you're left standing in the road.

    At midnight.

    In front of the party.
