    New Bike - Ninja 1000?

    Hey Everyone,

Been a very long time since I was last on here. Been about 6 years since I sold my bike, and I think it's about time I start looking at getting a new one.
I'm a fan of Nakeds, and I had a z750 previously. I've been looking at the Z900, Z1000 and also the Ninja 1000, which I think is my favourite out of all of them.

Just wanting to get everyone's opinions on the Ninja 1000 (and the others as well) and whether that would be a good choice of bike.
This is more aimed at whether there's been major problems with any of these bikes or whether people have not liked them for certain reasons etc.

    Hi,
I had a 2016 Ninja 1000. Brilliant bike and didnít miss a beat. Enough power to keep you satisfied and very linear so no big surprises.
Only reason I changed was it wasnít suited to long two up runs (comfort wise). Looking back, should have kept it as a daily.
    Hope it helps.

If long distance comfort is less of an issue, the z900 is an amazing bike. I had a z800, z1000 and ninja 1000. Never had an issue. Great bikes all of them.

the comparison of two different style bikes, sport vs naked, can only be done by your ass in the seat. most of the jap bikes are fairly well made and dont need any special attention. so no worries there. as long as you service them they keep goin.

I have a 2010 Z1000 which I love, and I test rode a brand spanker Ninja1000 in 2015. My sense of vanity prefers the Zed, but realistically and practically the Ninja1000 is the better more all-rounder of a bike.

Same stonking motor for the street, wind/weather protection, traction control, power modes, adjustable suspension, pannier options and legitimately a much nice/more useful gauge cluster. And probably more I've forgotten.

If I had my time again to buy, I'd be looking a lot more seriously at the Ninja over a Zed, but maybe that's just the old man in me?

Ninja thou is a great bike and I test rode and looked at buying one for myself, before deciding on the VFR 800.
As Gim stated, it's really a rider only bike. The Pillion seat is small and uncomfortable and the luggage is one or the other, you can't have topbox/panniers at the same time.

Have you considered the two Suzuki's, GSX-S1000 naked and faired versions?

That's awesome guys! Thanks heaps for the advice. It definitely sounds like it's a great bike.

Cone Cat, I've not had too deep a look into it, but I like the styling!

I was honestly surprised how nimble the Ninja1000 was when I tested one. I seriously considered picking one up.

Awesome. Well I definitely am going to test ride them and see what they're like.
Might have to duck down to Mack1 in Midland and check it out!

Give them a ring first to make sure their demo is in Midland.
They share the demo bikes with the Wangara store so it could be at either.
