    Good info.

Lane splitting: A manoeuvre involving a motorcyclist moving between two or more lanes of traffic (travelling in the same direction) at a speed of above 30km/h.
Changing lanes is a "manoeuvre". Cars are able to do it. It is legal. This is not a definition of splitting. And if it's not defined then I'm keen to continue to do it and argue the point.

Less points or tougher penalties it seems. Same test just stricter.

Check the picture, page 7 image 3. It is a bike overtaking with oncoming traffic, they are calling it 'splitting'.

Most of the bike is to to the left of the dividing line but part of the bike is over the centre line.

That is no different to current law. It is not splitting. The rider is overtaking when unsafe to do so in the same lane as oncoming traffic.

"Splitting"in that picture would be the whole of the bike to the left of the centre line. Any law that would stop that would also stop cars safely passing a vehicle within their lane. For example when passing a vehicle turning left.
